Playing fast and loose with facts and figures is pure pro forma Republican behavior and nobody does it better, or worse depending upon your POV, then Donald Trump Jr. He spoke this weekend at Turning Point USA and he came up with some pretty amazing stats. You won’t hear these figures anywhere else, because they don’t exist in what we know as The Real World.
The eldest son of the former president and his first wife, Ivana Trump, Jr. told the TPUSA crowd that “they” can’t cancel 150 million Americans. It’s unclear where he pulled 150 million from, as his father was only able to secure 74 million votes. So it appears the Trump son doubled the number his father got in 2020. If those numbers were correct, Trump would have scored nearly 100 percent of the United States popular vote.
Then Junior went on to brag that Daddy was “the most popular president ever.” He never had an approval rating that cracked 50% and the most recent approval rating on Biden is at 58%, so it is wondering what yardstick Junior is using to measure popularity. One that only he can see, apparently. And we doubt if even he can see it, sans chemical assistance.
A Gallup survey released last month revealed that 56 percent of U.S. adults surveyed said they approve of the job President Joe Biden is doing. Few polling companies are even surveying how Donald Trump’s approval is at this point, but YouGovAmerica shows it at 39 percent. […]
Trump Jr. went on to mock New York City for having election issues in which they accidentally released their test numbers earlier in their counting. He then complained that if people really cared about the safety and security of elections that they would want to open the ballots to be questioned. As was revealed in Arizona, the counters were able to change votes if they wanted by using the same color pens as used on the ballots. The companies “checking” the voting machines ultimately rendered them un-secured, costing the county millions of dollars. The so-called audit became such a joke that Arizona Republicans were calling on their own party to stop.
The problem with what he’s doing is that he’s undermining democracy and faith in free and fair elections with this demagoguery. And that’s the part that may blow up in the GOP’s faces. We saw what happened in Georgia, how more Democrats turned out than Republicans and that’s how the two runoff elections were lost.

So far 150 million is the biggest number we’ve heard. Mike Lindell is going on about 12 to 19 million more votes for Trump, which would give him 86 to 89 million. The numbers are just like the ones Trump uses to evaluate his businesses, completely dreamt up and pulled out of the air.

When has Junior ever shown signs that he understands how anything in the real world works (as opposed to whatever universe he and his family seem to live in)?
Even the combined 2016/2020 votes don’t ad up to that (137,207,786 for anyone interested) but did anyone assume that the Trump family had any brains?

Speaking of green slime, who else would like to see Don Jr (and the whole Trump klan, for that matter) on the Nickelodeon network and get green slime dumped on him? Oh for the days of “You Can’t Do That on Television” (where “I don’t know” was the trigger for the slime to be dumped) and “Double Dare” (where slime was part of the challenges).

Did he say “cancel the VOTES of 150 million Americans? If not, he probably meant that the 74 million who did vote also represent another 74 million Americans who cannot vote because they are the minor children of those who did vote, and then rounded up to nice, even number.
“The most popular president ever” bit comes from their belief that the only Americans who count are Trump supporters. Trump has always been the president of only his supporters. He is speaking to a crowd who lives in the same fantasy world he lives in.
It’s only a matter of time, when the law will catch up with him, and we will see how much man he is. Don’t drop the soap Jr.
