This was comical a few weeks ago, now it’s just stale and tired. Even Bill Barr said that there were no grounds for further investigation of an FBI document which contained a comment about Joe Biden, but James Comer can’t find anything better to defame Biden with, so like a dog with a bone, he’s hanging onto it and he won’t let go. Washington Post:
“To date, the FBI has refused to comply with our lawfully issued subpoena and even refused to admit the record’s existence up until a week ago,” Comer said in a statement. “The FBI created this record based on information from a credible informant who has worked with the FBI for over a decade and paid six figures.” […]
Earlier this week, the FBI said in a statement that a potential contempt vote was “unwarranted” given the bureau had “continuously demonstrated its commitment to accommodate the committee’s request.”
The White House on Monday called the expected decision by Comer to move forward with a contempt vote “another fact-free stunt” and accused Comer of spreading “thin innuendo to try to damage the President politically and get himself media attention.”
Comer is doing this to spin the news cycle away from Trump’s issues with Jack Smith’s investigations. That’s as simple as it gets. Comer is dying to show how corrupt Joe Biden and his family are, so that he can play both siderism and whataboutism and he’s got jack nothing to work with, so he keeps beating this long-dead horse.
This is what the GOP stands for in this day and age, disinformation and desperation.
