Only one thing can be definitively said about Elon Musk: he is dangerous. Something happened in January-February of 2022 that fundamentally changed Elon Musk’s nature, and, perhaps not coincidentally, it happened at exactly the same time that Musk came out of the MAGA closet and grossly overpaid for Twitter. In the year since, Musk has been in a financial freefall, having lost half his wealth while also acting far more erratically and far more politically. He no longer talks about Mars or vacuum tunnels from San Francisco to L.A.

Tesla is in real trouble, and one didn’t need to be a genius trader to have seen it coming. Indeed, Tesla stock – which makes up the vast majority of Musk’s wealth, started diving the moment he started flirting with Twitter. Investors reacted to the fact that Musk was behaving like an adolescent, playing billionaire on Twitter, giggling at his own cleverness in memes, all the while losing money.

Apparently, Musk now realizes that he’s in trouble. Tesla just issued a massive recall, and there are questions regarding the company’s stability. Musk pulled almost $4 billion in cash out of the company by selling some of his stock. He also lost half his potential buyers – indeed, the most likely buyers, by slamming liberals. So he is looking for financing and deep pockets. He is working with China.

As I said, he is dangerous. We have an extremely complex relationship with China but it’s increasingly antagonistic, and if Trump wins in 2025 or if we’re in our own “civil battle,” some expect China to invade Taiwan. Musk shouldn’t be looking to China for help. And Steve Bannon (Of all people), the former Goldman Sachs partner, is calling him out:

“He went begging the CCP, that’s why they have the joint venture in Shanghai, the Tesla, which is 100% of his value. This guy lives on government contracts and taxpayer subsidies. You’re a running dog for the greatest enemy this nation has ever had. You’re a war profiteer and you’re sleeping with the enemy. You’re not an American nationalist, you’re not even an American, all you are is a globalist. You would take a check from Adolph Hitler himself, because you’re taking it from people that are as bad as the Chinese Communist Party, which you praised on their 100th anniversary.

Throw out the whole “globalist” shit. Throw out “Greatest Enemy this nation has ever had, because that would be Russia,) With the globalist and “enemy” thing gone, Bannon is 100% correct about Musk. Elon should not be partnering with China right now, and a lot of companies should be rethinking their relationship with China, looking at Apple in particular.

Anyway, Musk is dangerous (So is Bannon), and this war is heating up. Follow up below for one more interesting detail:

The MAGAs are utterly confused as to what is going on. These are their heroes and are supposed to align with everything.

Bannon is a dangerous ass. But Bannon can’t buy a small nation and thus doesn’t have the ability to cause trouble in the way that Musk can and does. Something happened in Jan-Feb of 2022. It radically changed Elon from being the guy who was going to Mars to the guy who can’t get enough politics, and it’s all on the Far Right. Wonder what it was.

  1. Oh how we forget. In Europe WW2 started in 1939 with the German invasion of Poland, not in 1941. In those two years, General Motors, Ford, DuPon,t and the other American corporates quite happily continued business and profits in Hitler’s Germany, even relocating factories to evade Allied bombing.
Musk doing business is merely the continuation of a long tradition of money and greed first, ethics and people last.
It can be strongly argued that today’s ‘socially responsible companies’ are only so because of the potential cost of consumer action and boycotts of unsocial behavior.

Plus ça change plus c’est la même chose.

    • Stalin said when it came time to hang the capitalist west an American businessman would sell him the rope. I for one think he was, and remains correct. Not all, but damned near all corporate types can talk all they want about, and give all the political donations they want to candidates who like them talk about “American values”, “America first” and claim they bleed red, white & blue. The ONLY color they care about is GREEN. In the shade used to print American currency. They will sell any and everyone down the fucking drain to get their hands on more fucking money.

      • On a related note, Denis, Kamil Galeev has documented on Twitter how the USSR’s entire industrial base was only possible because American big business built it for them. He noted that the only reason Russia didn’t collapse centuries ago was because the leading economic powers of the day (Britain in the 19th Century and America during WWII) propped them up.

      • I don’t know at what point of valuation the people behind major corporations lose all loyalty to anything but money, I just know it happens. They get away with most of their stars and stripes and heart string pulling types of advertising with plenty of people. I know who they really are and I also know that all of us are important to them only in a dollar and cents way.

  2. What happened to Musk? His divorce would be my guess. That’s when he really went flying off the deep end. Not he was ever a good person in the first place…

  3. “Throw out “Greatest Enemy this nation has ever had, because that would be Russia … ”
Yes, but of course Bannon would never agree because he loves him some Russia.

  4. Bannon should talk. He’s been playing footsie with Guo Wengui, a Chinese exiled billionaire with ties to China’s intelligence agency. He’s the one behind the Hunter laptop conspiracy and has been trying to disrupt and agitate against the US govt. along with Bannon. He acts like a spy. But, as long as he’s trying to divide and conquer the US, he’s okay with Stevie three shirts.

  5. Two shit bags at odds, oh boy! How about a pay per view caged death match? Musk was a visionary before he became radicalized by the American Jihad. Bannon has always been a steaming pile of dung and it bothers me just a little that I agree with some of his comments regarding Musk.
