Holy Madison Cawthorn, Batman! Lauren Boebert is duplicating his track record in yet another way. Besides being an utter disgrace to Congress and an embarrassment to her congressional district with her gauche behavior, she’s also doing what Cawthorn did and switching congressional districts. I find it comical that she’s already given up the ghost to Adam Frisch and whomever the GOP nominee will be, in order to fight it all out. But Bobo will not be on the ballot in CO-03 next year. Colorado Sun:
The 3rd District leans 9 percentage points in Republicans’ favor while the 4th District leans 27 points toward the GOP, according to a nonpartisan analysis of election results from 2016 to 2020 by staffers for the Colorado legislature. Boebert doesn’t have to live in the 4th District to represent it.
“I did not arrive at this decision easily,” Boebert said in a Facebook video announcing the move. “A lot of prayer, a lot of tough conversations and a lot of perspective convinced me that this is the best way I can continue to fight for Colorado, for the conservative movement and for my children’s future.”

But the congresswoman’s switch to run in the 4th District is an acknowledgement that Boebert’s attempted shift from a no-holds-barred, gun-on-her-hip politician to a serious policymaker likely won’t be enough to win reelection to her current seat. She has struggled to fundraise for her 3rd District reelection bid and has lost the support of big-name Republicans in western Colorado.
Um…scuse me? Does Bobo think that the folks over in CO-04 don’t watch the same news channels and read the same papers as the ones in CO-03? This whole thing was cobbled together in the proverbial smoke filled room. The smoke may be an anachronism and probably the back room is a swanky conference room, but the concept is the same. The Colorado GOP sees the same handwriting on the wall that the rest of us do and they decided to not jeopardize the seat in CO-03.
The best way to save it is to get Bobo away from it. Now, Ken Buck retired and that put yet another seat at risk to lose, so somehow the decision was made to put Bobo in Buck’s seat.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I still think Boebert is going down in flames. If she can’t fundraise in one part of the state, I don’t think she’s going to be able to fundraise in another part of it. Plus, the stench of MAGA is particularly strong in Weld County, which is where CO-04 is. It’s in the northern party of the state, on the Wyoming state line.
Jenna Ellis used to adjudicate traffic tickets in Weld County, where Ken Buck was the district attorney. Yes, Weld County is deep red. Has been for quite some time. I worked at radio station KYOU in Greeley back in 1978, as the Assistant News Director, and was the token hippy liberal (not to mention female) back in the day. But the Republicans I worked with were a different breed. They were sane and decent people, they emphatically were not MAGA.
I have no idea how much Weld County has changed since I was there. But I think Boebert is done in Colorado. I think this is a last ditch effort on the part of the GOP and I think the net effect of moving Boebert from CO-03 to CO-04 will be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
And frankly, I’m not too sure about this business of you don’t have to live in a congressional district to represent it, but that’s a column for another day.

Just like all their ‘policies’, no thinking, just hope, prayers, and spin.
When will she start wearing matronly clothes and carrying a Bible? You know boobert…repentance comes from the heart and not by relocation.
Bobo-locks and the Two Districts
Bobo needs to get a clue-she blames “dark money” and such for her current re-election problems. Fact is, far less money is needed to run against her after her little live performance at that Denver theater. It is not expensive to run ads with just the video footage of her groping a guy.
Why is it when ‘pubes make their beds, they do not want to lie in them?
I live in CD3. It was not “dark money” that scared off Bobo. She knows that she can’t win a primary against Will Hurd. Apparently she is not afraid of at least 5 other Republican candidates in the CD4 primary. Thinking she has miscalculated here. (Also looks like she’s decided to splash some of those campaign funds on a new wardrobe for herself.)
And, just as she doesn’t have to live in CD4 to run for that office (also a mistake announcing “she’ll move there if she wins – people might like a little more “buy-in” from their representative) I don’t have to live there to donate to her opponent.
