If you all remember correctly, almost a year ago I wrote an article in which I basically accused Traitor tot of being guilty of political malpractice. Mostly because El Pendejo Presidente was the only announced candidate for President. Therefore he could travel around the country on campaign paid junkets, licking his nuts in ego fulfilling rallies, and defining and slamming his opponents before they’re on an equal footing to do it to him. And instead he just fundraised and licked his nuts at home.
And now sadly I fear that President Biden is making the same mistake. While His Lowness may not have any serious competition for the GOP nomination, nonetheless he has competition, and still has to campaign like a primary candidate. Akso his burgeoning legal problems are beginning to take a serious toll on his tiime, time he’d rather spend campaigning.
Meanwhile President Biden literally has no primary opponents. The RFK Jr. joke seems to have run its course. And while progressives and other blue ingrates may be miserable at another Biden run, he’s what they got, and they’ll be there. But with Air Force 1, the bully pulpit, and no primaries to worry about, most Democratic strategists and operatives are almost begging Biden to hit the road and start the general election campaign right now. And I’m right there with them.
Because you never get a second chance to make a first impression. And right now Traitor Tot is f*cking up his now 3rd first impression like a Chinese fire drill. You’re reading it here first. Trump’s base isn’t enough anymore. And he knows it. And that’s why his rhetoric lately has gone pure Mein Kampf, complete with purloined quotes from the original text. Trump is engineering his rhetoric to try to attract the lowest level, most psychotic neo Nazi’s and Klan Kowboys that haven’t turned out to vote for him yet. And Biden, his surrogates, Democratic incumbents and challengers, and affiliated PAC’s and Super PAC’s need to start hammering Trump right now on it. But Biden is insisting that there will be time to engage Trump after he is the nominee, and he’s making the worst mistake of his life.
But he needs to be selective. The last thing that he wants to start weighing in on is the Colorado 14th Amendment case. That is toxic for the Democrats, because if they comment, Trump and the GOP will warp that around as some kind of Biden deep state plot against him. Just let that play out. Nor do they need to start hammering away on his incendiary fascist language. There will be time for that later.
What the Democrats and especially Biden and his surrogates need to start hammering incessantly is Trump’s criminality. Personally I’m not so sure that Secretary Pete is good for this, he’s a wee too Opie Taylor. But certainly VP Kamala Harris can throw a few one liners about his 91 criminal indictments in before she revs the crowd up on the abortion issue.
Here’s why. Because it’s working! We already know that there is a bloc of independent and soft GOP Trump supporters out there that have already said that if he’s convicted of criminal activity, they’re outta there. And if he wants even a shot at this, Trump can’t afford to lose any votes.
But it gets worse. In a poll broken on MSNBC tonight by Alex Wagner, Trump’s base support is wavering. In the poll, 24% of solid Trump supporters said that if he is convicted on criminal charges, they wouldn’t vote for him. And 21% of those voters said that if he’s convicted of criminal charges, he should be in prison. Here’s the cherry on top. Those numbers are up 10% from two months ago.
In order to keep your faith intact, make sure it remains unsullied by fact. And that’s Trump’s problem. While his base followers may only get their news from approved outlets like FUX News, OAN and InfoWars, they can’t live in a vacuum.
There’s always the reputable network news on the television in the company lunchroom. There are the headlines on the newspapers people are reading on the train or the bus, the conversation around the water cooler. There’s the conversations surrounding them in the restaurants where they go to lunch. And right now, Trump’s impending legal problems are everywhere as his trials creep ever closer. There is no way that these people can remain blissfully ignorant of at least the basic outlines of Trump’s criminal exposure.
And Trump is no longer the omnipresent news source that he used to be. He lost the bully pulpit when he lost the White House. because Hair Twitler chose not to take any punches by appearing in the GOP primary debates, he lost that guaranteed national media venue as well. And without the Mango Messiah, the ratings on the debates are under those of monster truck rally reruns. Trump’s message isn’t getting across like it did during his presidency and reelection campaign.
As Chris carter said in The C-Files, The truth is out there. And as much as Trump hates it, his legal problems are omnipresent in the news, and he’s not. And that will only get worse as these appellate court ruling start rolling out, and his trial dates approach. The time is now to flood the zone on Trump’s legal difficulties, and start changing hearts and minds while he’s distracted by the primaries and his court cases.

CNN is truly a disappin5ment. I can no longer stomach it. Nearly every analyst there says the CO court ruling is “unfair”. Not that Trump would win the state anyway. More moaning and gnashing of teeth. It seems CNN one hand wants Trump to beat Biden. Then not. Fake polls. Biden’s age. To say with a straight face that the upcoming trials won’t affect Trump is truly stunning. In its early years, CNN wouldn’t cross that line.
Your premise is spot on. Democrats need to do TWO things. Remind potential “undecided” voters of Biden’s achievements and REAL WORLD econo.ic improvement. AND Trump’s drama in his previous term and potential threat. Democrat candidates MUST be aggressive in their messaging.

I don’t generally watch CNN except Zakaria & occasional specials I get wind of. But right after the verdict in the E Jean Carroll trial, CNN allowed DON THE CON free-rein on a totally UNFACT CHECKED townhall, where he proceeded to defame E Jean with the exact same accusations he used before. Fortunately this caught DON THE CON a 2nd defamation charge.
Reports I heard at the time as to the reasons CNN had allowed this to happen was because of a new CNN investor with a decidedly MAGA influence & supporter of Trump. That might be the reason for other strange things happening in the network’s reporting.
I agree that VP Harris should be talking up Trump’s criminal indictments. She’s really the best choice considering her own legal background: She was the DA in San Francisco and the Attorney General of California before her time in the Senate and as VP. Who better than someone responsible for prosecuting criminals to be reminding people of Trump’s “alleged” criminal actions at every turn?
I agree… Kamala Harris is an excellent person to talk about DON THE CON’S criminal indictments, etc. As a Californian, I had the chance to vote for Kamala for Attorney General & then for Senator.
During the 2016 campaign, I hoped that Joe Biden would make Kamala Harris his Attorney General because I knew she would go into the job ready to KICK TRUMP’S ASS. Joe made Kamala his VP instead & we got a rather less roarin to go AG in Merrick Garland who took way too long at getting a Special Counsel after DON THE CON.
