Violence doesn’t seem to bother the GOP. That’s the takeaway from January 6. And violence against women doesn’t seem to ruffle Kevin McCarthy’s feathers one bit. He shared at a recent meeting of his caucus, after they presented him with an oversized gavel, that “it would be hard not to hit Nancy Pelosi with it.” Har de har har. It goes without saying that for the yous and mes, we would be fired if we threatened violence against a co-worker.
This would be a tasteless crack in any event, but when you put it into the context of just seven months ago, 25,000 of Trump’s supporters breached the Capitol and searched out Nancy Pelosi specifically, then McCarthy’s remark is nothing short of despicable.

The Capitol was violently attacked.
Marauding men searched the halls looking for Nancy Pelosi.
Ominously calling her name.

There is no low they won’t go.
As a survivor of a sexual assault at gunpoint in which I nearlly lost my life, I am incensed at Kevin McCarthy’s totally unacceptable comment about hitting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with an oversized gavel. He is not ft to represent anybody (most especially women) in our nation’s democracy. HE NEEDS TO RESIGN NOW!!!
Who wants to bet if some progressive comedian made a “joke” about punching McCarthy in the face, McCarthy would be whining to Fox “News” about how he’s being “persecuted” and how his little feelings were “hurt?” Oh, and that he’d filed formal charges with the Capitol Police and the FBI against the comedian.
Right now, I’m laying odds of 1: 10,000 (a $10,000 bet gets you $1 in return).
There are NO words how pathetic the GOP is these days … this is just one more strike against the overwhelming stupidity in the, ‘THE OLD GUARD’ members there … some of the newer members like those now on the committee that is investigating the, Jan-06, debacle, still have a brain of their own, not following the orders set in place by McConnell himself, or even the former pretend president … the big lie has worn so thin by now as to be invisible to the naked eye … those still pushing that sewage should be put in mental health lock-down so they don’t hurt themselves or someone else …
The FBI and DOJ seem to be running on new blood, a good thing … Meanwhile, the slow drip of the Chinese water torture-like actions of those stars of stupidity, like, “GYM” J. in the House and others, should be held accountable for so much useless time spent on committees, trying to blame Democrats for Republican do-wrongs …
