The continuing deference the Federal Government is showing to the TFG and his revolving team of bush-league lawyers is increasingly unbelievable and unacceptable.

In this Politico article we learn that the National Archives delayed turning over to the DOJ and FBI for assessment, documents recovered from Mar-A-Lago in January of this year, until June as they negotiated with Trump and his Team for permission to do so.

“The National Archives found more than 700 pages of classified material — including “special access program materials,” some of the most highly classified secrets in government — in 15 boxes recovered from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in January, according to correspondence between the National Archivist and his legal team.

The May 10 letter — posted late Monday on the website of John Solomon, a conservative journalist and one of Trump’s authorized liaisons to the National Archives to review papers from his presidency — showed that NARA and federal investigators had grown increasingly alarmed about potential damage to national security caused by the warehousing of these documents at Mar-a-Lago, as well as by Trump’s resistance to sharing them with the FBI.”

Wait.

This is unbelievable.

First, not only did the motherhuncher steal these sensitive national security documents and spirit them off to his clubhouse to do only Jebus know what with, but, the National Archivist, after the documents’ recovery, was negotiating the terms under which they can be turned over to law enforcement to assess the possible damage to National Security… with the thieves?

What?

It gets worse.

”Access to the materials is not only necessary for purposes of our ongoing criminal investigation, but the Executive Branch must also conduct an assessment of the potential damage resulting from the apparent manner in which these materials were stored and transported and take any necessary remedial steps,” according to the DOJ letter. “Accordingly, we are seeking immediate access to these materials so as to facilitate the necessary assessments that need to be conducted within the Executive Branch.”

Wall indicated that Archives had notified Trump on April 12 of the FBI’s “urgency” to review the documents but delayed transmitting them at the behest of Trump’s team.

“It has now been four weeks since we first informed you of our intent to provide the FBI access to the boxes so that it and others in the Intelligence Community can conduct their reviews,” Wall wrote. “ Notwithstanding the urgency conveyed by the Department of Justice and the reasonable extension afforded to the former President, your April 29 letter asks for additional time for you to review the materials in the boxes ‘in order to ascertain whether any specific document is subject to privilege,’ and then to consult with the former President “so that he may personally make any decision to assert a claim of constitutionally based privilege.’”

They are literally begging Trump for his permission to investigate his crimes.

Sheesh.

Below is the full letter sent from the Archivist to Trump’s lawyers.

I understand that recovering the remainder of the documents stolen had to be their first priority, but enforcement of the law has to figure in somewhere, irregardless of what the criminal and his lawyers think.

  1. Let’s not kid ourselves, whatever is in those documents has already been shared with our enemies and others who might do damage to our country and other countries. We need to assume putie pie has seen them all as well as the arab countries. Hell, that little fuck in N. Korea may have even gotten some glimpses since former guys really IS that fucking stupid.

Sure hope we can clean up the mess this moron made of our nation.

  2. I’m angry that we are still talking about trials and prison for this a**hole traitor and his cronies. The crimes they have committed are way beyond that. This needs to be dealt with like the American government deals with any other dangerous terrorist organization. You put a bag over Trump’s head. You transport him to a secret government black site. You ‘forcefully interrogate’ him until he gives up everyone else involved. Then you either toss all of them in Gitmo for the rest of their natural lives or you hang them.

  3. Frankly anyone at the National Archives involved in NOT informing the FBI (specifically the Counter-Intelligence Division) IMMEDIATELY when they learned about classified documents being STOLEN should be under criminal investigation. And don’t talk to me about “intent” or nonsense about Executive Privilege. They all knew goddam well that it doesn’t apply. EVERY SINGLE ONE of those documents including but especially the classified ones belong to the government of the United States. AND that EP doesn’t apply as it rests with the sitting President! Trump ceased to be President at noon on Jan. 20, 2021. End of fucking story. From where I sit there are people at NARA who are guilty of aiding in the crime(s) of misappropriation of classified material, and even obstruction of justice. They too should be charged. I think it would be interesting to learn what they’d reveal if that happened – all those conversations with Trump and his people during that unforgivable and CRIMINAL delay. I for one think they’d flip in a heartbeat to if not save their own asses at least reduce their sentences by revealing all manner of stuff that would help convict Trump and his cronies!

  4. Apparently previous holders of the office didn’t have the”BDE” to understand that it just meant you were given the mandate to just keep it. FFS. All it took was an old toddler who requires the most significant time out in the history of this country.

  5. Cops have “qualified immunity” which allows them to kill whoever they want, whenever they want but none of the “initial” agencies can seem to find their own dumb asses with both hands.
