Have yourself a very Merry Christmas, Donald! We will! The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals just gave us a present early and it’s a doozy! Doesn’t even need batteries!

I am thrilled because karma is coming back to bite Trumpty and in the form of the very judges he appointed — and that U.S. attorney he hired, Jack Smith, is still out there, too. Trump is the architect of his own adversity and even though he thinks he can outwit everybody and stack the odds in his favor, he cannot. That is the present that we are unwrapping today. Trump thought he was going to take over the government, pollute the judiciary, and so far, at least, it hasn’t worked out that way. CNN:

In a major defeat for former President Donald Trump, a federal appeals court on Thursday halted a third-party review of documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The ruling removes a major obstacle to the Justice Department’s investigation into the mishandling of government records from Trump’s time in the White House.

The three-judge panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals reversed US District Judge Aileen Cannon’s order appointing a so-called special master to sort through thousands of documents found at Trump’s home to determine what should be off limits to investigators.

“The law is clear,” the appeals court wrote. “We cannot write a rule that allows any subject of a search warrant to block government investigations after the execution of the warrant. Nor can we write a rule that allows only former presidents to do so.”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! The ketchup bottles are unionizing as we speak. They’ve had enough abuse. I hear my own, clanking in the cupboard.

Oh, Trumpty is going to go nuts when somebody reads this to him. I would not want to be that person. The article goes on, “that only in extraordinary circumstances should courts intervene in Justice Department investigations that are still in their early stages, and that standard had not been met here.”

And it goes without saying that Aileen Cannon is going to come out of this stinking. “In addition to reversing the order, the appeals court is instructing her to dismiss the entire case.”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

The question being deliberated, as we speak, is whether to appeal or not. If there’s no appeal, this ruling goes into effect in seven days. Can Trump’s lawyers cobble together some kind of an appeal which will further delay the machinations of the Department of Justice? They may try. If history is our guide, a Trump lawyer never proceeds on the merits of any case, only on procedural antics whose goal is to obfuscate and delay.

So an appeal may happen. But this issue is also being judged in the court of public opinion and Trump and his henchwoman, Judge Cannon, are not looking too good after this ruling.

  1. Don’t know the answer but I came close when my Tarheels ended K’s career in Cameron & ended his career in the Final Four. They had the #1 NBA draft pick along with 2 others in the top 15. We had none. So I guess the answer is NO.

  2. One thing Trump never understood about “his” people on the judiciary: the most craven, by and large, operate by the same rules he does of “f*** you, baby, I got mine.” As such, any loyalty they had to him died when they got their bench. Cannon was the sole exception to this and they are going to make an example out of her.
