It was a busy day in the Senate today. After having to deal with the likes of Rand Paul, Dr. Fauci had to deal with Roger Marshall. That is a sandwich nobody would want to be in the middle of. Patty Murray did her best to keep order, I give her all credit. Daily Beast:
A fed-up Dr. Anthony Fauci was heard on a hot mic calling Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) a “moron” after Marshall repeatedly demanded more financial disclosure from Fauci during a Senate hearing on Tuesday. Marshall held up a giant fake paycheck to illustrate the fact that his staff couldn’t find Fauci’s public financial disclosure. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Biden’s top health advisor, snapped back that his finances were readily available, and had been “for the last 37 years or so.” He added that Marshall, who blamed “the big tech giants” for concealing Fauci’s finances, just had to file a public information act request to view his disclosures. “You are so misinformed that it’s extraordinary,” he seethed. As Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) shut Marshall down and regained control of the proceedings, Fauci could be heard muttering to himself, “What a moron. Jesus Christ.”

I say good for Fauci for fighting back. He’s been demonized by the right-wing media and their sycophantic operatives in the House and Senate. The picture attached to this piece is Fauci with demonized eyes. The MAGAs are nuts.
What took Dr. Fauci so long? He has the patience of….I don’t know, a lot of patience.

You’re assuming that he cared one way or the other. PR games like that are usually played by Mean Girl Republicans. Fauci just didn’t notice because he was seething too much.
Being the good family man Dr. Fauci is, and interested in their safety, along with this perverted continuous attack on his intelligence and character, has gone beyond any reasonable question and answer session that should be allowed against ANYONE, much less the smartest scientist, keeping tabs on so many factors of the worst Pandemic of our century, to save ALL our lives …
The two voices of idiocy should be dropped from any committee activities and censured for horrible attacks, using worthless, wrong at any level evidence with an official apology to Dr. Fauci …
When it comes to true professionals–which Fauci absolutely is–NEVER get between them and the job. After two years of this BS, I submit that the good doctor was being very kind indeed over the fools who keep getting in the way of his.
I echo all the above sentiments, and would add that it’s well past time that the chair of this committee took charge and shut down any senators engaged in irrelevant personal attacks on Dr Fauci rather than any constructive contributions to their intended duties. These Repugnican bozos are only generating soundbites for Fox and its alleged audience (Trump) and should be called out for it.
Jesus Christ. That’s who they thinks gives them the A OK to be pathological liars depraved with greed. Their preachers have been telling them their entire lives (in a more subtle way) that the bottom line of their morality is that they can live lives of greed, hate, and lies, and as soon as they die they’ll go straight to heaven, where everything will be perfect for them forever, as long as they say jesus is god. And they’re supposed to give the preachers money, too, so they can sit on their asses BS’ing and being attention whores, rather than working at boring, mainstream jobs. Of course, jesus wasn’t the original inventor of that con.
