This is not going to be a good week for Donald Trump. On June 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET, televised hearings from the January 6 Committee will take place and that fact, coupled with the arrest of Peter Navarro yesterday, has proven greatly upsetting to Trumpty Dumpty. In fact, it seems to be ruining his weekend.

CRAZY, I tell you CRAZY!!! I’m just fine, but them, they’re CRAZZEEE!!!! (he says, straining against his strait jacket)

“The committee will present previously unseen material documenting January 6th, receive witness testimony, preview additional hearings, and provide the American people a summary of its findings about the coordinated, multi-step effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power,” the advisory from the committee states.

It’s going to be quite a show, as the Watergate hearings were, half a century ago.

You recall in February how the Republican party officially declared that the January 6 riot at the Capitol was “legitimate political discourse.” That was the day they rebuked Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for their condemnation of it and participation on the January 6 Committee.

This will be a watershed moment in American history. Apparently Trumpty thinks so or else why oh why would he be so upset?

I particularly look forward to the testimony of J. Michael Luttig, the judge who explained to Mike Pence why he had no legal options with the Eastman memo, and Greg Jacob, who was Pence’s attorney at the time. I can’t wait.

  1. OFFS. Navarro was in jail for a few hours at most, while his arrest (two charges of contempt of Congress) was processed. And then he was released, still in his nice suit, and babbled nonsense at the cameras. He thinks he’s qualified to defend himself, and he isn’t even close to being a lawyer.

    • I only found out yesterday that he wasn’t a lawyer. I just assumed he was with all this talk of mounting his own defense. For him to try to play lawyer at this level is going to be pure farce, if he attempts it.

  2. Handcuffed AND shackled? I didn’t see any photos of his ankles being chained.

He wasn’t ‘put into prison’ – he was detained for a whole two HOURS in the local cop-shop. That would include a search, documentation, mug shots and finger printing. Having all that done in two hours is Really a bit of a speed record

He wasn’t denied an attorney because he said he was his own attorney (and therefore was in contact with himself all during the time)
