Birds of a feather flock together. It might actually be best for Matt Gaetz to leave politics and go into television because the mindset there is vastly more tolerant of sexual escapades and shenanigans — although the fact that Gaetz was purportedly messing around with a 17-year-old girl and paying her to travel with him, might strain relations a bit even in the world of entertainment. New York Times:

Investigators are examining whether Mr. Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws, the people said. A variety of federal statutes make it illegal to induce someone under 18 to travel over state lines to engage in sex in exchange for money or something of value. The Justice Department regularly prosecutes such cases, and offenders often receive severe sentences.

It was not clear how Mr. Gaetz met the girl, believed to be 17 at the time of encounters about two years ago that investigators are scrutinizing, according to two of the people.

The investigation was opened in the final months of the Trump administration under Attorney General William P. Barr, the two people said. […]

The three people said that the examination of Mr. Gaetz, 38, is part of a broader investigation into a political ally of his, a local official in Florida named Joel Greenberg, who was indicted last summer on an array of chargesincluding sex trafficking of a child and financially supporting people in exchange for sex, at least one of whom was an underage girl.

Shades of Jeffrey Epstein. Greenberg is now in jail, for violating the terms of his bail and as for Gaetz, he “said in an interview that his lawyers had been in touch with the Justice Department and that they were told he was the subject, not the target, of an investigation. ‘“I only know that it has to do with women,” Mr. Gaetz said. “I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward.”’

Interesting timing on this, don’t you think? In the morning we hear how Gaetz is thinking of a career change from Congressman to commentator at Newsmax and in the afternoon the zeppelin crashes. Could be just coincidence, though, right? Gaetz don’t know nothin’ bout messin’ with no minors.

Help keep the site running, consider supporting.

  1. When you take this allegation along with his minor at the time “friend” “houseboy” “son” a pattern seems to develop……

    *waves red flags*

Yeah….right….it’s the Dems running pedophile rings……..think they are projecting again???

  2. Isn’t it always the most self-righteous loud mouths who have plenty of their own skeletons? Time and again we’ve seen this, the most pious, arrogant, holier-than-thou hypocrites who preach endlessly at everyone else, who judge everyone else as being morally inferior, suddenly are revealed for what they are: lying scumbag hypocrites. Yes, definitely projection, but worse. And I would be willing to bet that other self-righteous loudmouth dickheads like Hawley and Cruz are covering up their own sins with all that constant, noxious blathering. Don’t talk to us about pedophilia and other perverse behavior. These guys think everybody’s doing what they do. Can we bring back the stocks, dunking and public stoning?

    • This definition of stress sums up my feelings towards these clowns: “suppression of the natural urge to choke the living shit out of some sorry asshole who deserves it.”

  3. In his statement Gaetz said: “I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward.”’

He left out a word. A pretty important word. The girl was 17 which may or may not protect him from a statutory rape charge (state laws still vary) even if it does he’s still facing federal charges due to crossing state lines. In any case she was 17. So, what his statement should say is:

“I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to UNDERAGE ex-girlfriends as something more untoward.”’

  4. The whole pedophile rings sounded a lot like Epstein’s scenario to me some time ago. Also, they may think that the best defense is a good offense.

  5. Is it possible, especially as so much money has been thrown around, that the skewered GOP stars of our days have trails back to Mar-o-golf parties with Trump and Epstein and the young girls Trump trafficked himself?

There are two lawyer types very close to the action back in the 90’s, Buffoon Barr and everyone’s favorite expert at something, Alan Dershowitz, two classic bozos that have been screwing things up for a LOT of people and always know a lot more about Trump than DJT can even remember … the island in the middle of the ocean could reveal a novel of facts about GOP money, if there was anybody willing to risk exposure …

I’m feeling that Epstein’s suicide was staged by huge money and power that he could have destroyed …

    • Right idea, wrong culprit on Epstein, my mom and I now think. Smart but repellent people like that knew there was nothing to be gained by putting him to death. It was likely Trump and his people in a panic move, thinking that would end it. All it did was pry the lid off the garbage can and the refuse hasn’t stopped spewing out since.

        • Eff that, Dana. Whatever one may think of the Clintons, no one ever accused them of being dumb. And assuming I’m on point about this being a covert hit job by Trump (and let me be clear in that I’m willing to allow for a more mundane explanation, including it being actual suicide), this is EXACTLY his level of dumb. As many people as he overtly got killed in his four years in similarly vindictive/careless ways, it totally fits the pattern. Unlike the GQP, when I put forth a theory in public, it’s because I gave it VERY careful thought.

          • It has nothing to do with being dumb or smart. It is about throwing allegations around. Read what you wrote to me. You did not actually defend the Clintons at all. You left those allegations from the right open, the only difference is your implication that the Clintons were too smart to get caught, or were more well-protected by the Democratic “establishment.”

  6. Just heard about this one, including how it connects back to Greenberg. Matty is in SUCH deep shit. Then he had the bright idea to see if Tucker Carlson, a repellent blue blood wannabe who nonetheless wants nothing to do with this, would act as his alibi witness on Carlson’s show. It didn’t go well.

I say again: the Trump crew absolutely SUCK at coverups. And the fact that they probably are costing far more careful crooks their precious treasures is going to have an ugly reckoning from the latter party soon enough.
