DeSantis Refines Trump Impersonation: Voters ‘Will Walk Barefoot Over Broken Glass’ For Me

We all remember the moment in the 2016 Presidential election when drumpf proclaimed that his voters would never abandon him… even if he were to “shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue.”

That statement was despicable of course, but Trump was suggesting harm to a third party, which of course played right into his MAGA bases’s taste for political violence which we as a nation have unfortunately become wearily inured to in the ensuing six odd years.

But the Tallahassee Tyrant, Ron DeSantis, who is so fond of imitating the Orangeutan’s every move…

… has done his hero one better, and, as is appropriate for a political leader who sacrifices thousands of his citizens to disease and death in order to grease the wheels of commerce of his state – and brags about it – stating that his voters will inflict bodily harm on themselves to further his political goals, he suggests his voters will harm themselves.

He had this to say at The Republican Jewish Coalition meeting in Las Vegas this weekend.

“Sounding more and more like a future presidential candidate, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis arrogantly boasted to a group of Republicans that people are willing to “walk barefoot over broken glass” to vote for him because he’s such a superlative leader.”

He went on to brag about his response to Covid 19 and all it had done for Florida:

“DeSantis touted his “free state of Florida,” and boasted of battling vaccines in a fight against a “Faucian dystopia where people’s freedoms were curtailed and their livelihoods destroyed.”

He also preened that “the state of Florida is where ‘woke’ goes to die,” as he detailed various programs restricting freedoms for the LGBTQ community and sharply narrowing what’s taught in schools.”

Well, it is where many went to die, Ron, as Florida was in the upper third of states that had the most Covid deaths : and per 100,000 surpassed only by states that were hit hard early and others which took no
precautions at all.

But Ron soon came back to his main theme for the evening:

“When you stand up for what’s right, when you show people you’re willing to fight for them, they will walk over broken glass barefoot to come vote for you, and that’s exactly what they did for me in record numbers,” the Republican governor said to a standing ovation. “We’ve got a lot more to do, and I have only begun to fight.”

We know you will fight, little Dicktater, and we know you are willing to sacrifice the feet, and indeed the lives of your mindless unwoke Republican voters to your ambitions, but the question that is so far unanswered is will you go the final mile in your impersonation of the treasonous one and betray your nation if your lust for power seems liable to be thwarted or is indeed rejected by the majority of sane voters?

I suspect I know the answer to that and hope our nation does not have to find out the hard way.
