I wonder if any of the Christo-fascists ever actually READ the bible:

Yeah, and those are the words of Jesus Himself. It’s just too bad that so many of His self-described followers take those words to heart, preferring, instead, to spend their time spouting the words of Paul (a man who spent a few years persecuting Jesus’s believers and followers under the name of Saul) as well as the hallucinations/mad dreams of John of Patmos. And, of course, exhorting the establishment of Mosaic Law as the foundation of American law even as they ignore a lot of the Mosaic Law they don’t like. (Just as Paul did NOT say, “Hey, eating pig meat isn’t going to send you to Hell”; his words were intended as “God won’t mind if you eat pig meat if your persecutors are feeding you nothing but that because God wants you to live more than He wants you to starve yourself to death.” Too many “Christians” choose to ignore that context because they found they really like that pig meat–especially when tossed on a grill and slathered with tangy, tomato-based sauces.)
And they also overlook the fact that John was referring to Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus as ‘the beast’ (the ancient Greek numeric system is letter based and ‘N E R O’ comes out as ‘666’.
The whole thing of the ‘Revelations’ was that ‘the Roman legal system is going to come down hard, but God loves you’. It was NOT a ‘prophecy’ for any future event
