Birds of a feather flock together. Two very talented groups of filmmakers/political pundits are joining forces at Political Ground Zero in Georgia, because one of them has been harassed.

And then there’s Mike Pence, star of the latest Lincoln Project troll designed to drive Donald Trump out of what are left of his wits. Poor Mike Pence. He’s the sycophant’s sycophant but it simply isn’t good enough, because it’s his job to announce that Congress has certified Donald Trump’s loss and that’s that. That’s the final nail in the coffin. What is usually routine formality takes on symbolic stature this January 6.

It doesn’t look good for the GOP in Georgia. I hate to get too excited, because I’ve gotten all revved up before and then watched Republicans get reelected, and I don’t want to set myself up for another deflation. But I have to say, I’m starting to feel really good about Georgia. Warnock and Ossoff are so vastly superior to those two insider trading crooks that are on the GOP ticket. It would be so great if they were to win. I’m glad Meidas Touch and Lincoln Project are on the front lines.

One of my saner friends is from Ga and republican. She’s going for the dems in the runoff.

I’m just glad to know that there has been boots on the ground canvassing going on. It’s been taking place for a while now in fact. I’ve thought this but haven’t said it publicly until now but I think part of why we didn’t do as well as we expected in down ballot races is because we didn’t have people out knocking on doors. The GOP did. Btw, it WAS and IS possible to to door-to-door canvassing in a safe and responsible way. But that local, in person effort matters and the more down ballot a race is the more… Read more »

Something to that, Denis, but woulda, shoulda, coulda. With the sheer volume of COVID-19 disinformation floating in place of facts that have been slow to emerge, folks didn’t feel like gambling with their health. We did good enough to get Trump out, which is a start.

At the very end of the campaign, there was some canvassing being done done for Biden in NE Ohio but not until the very end. After spending a couple of months working for the census, which is basically canvassing, and feeling completely safe, I think it was the wrong call, but given all the sickness and death, I think the campaign erred on the side of compassion and decency while the Republicans didn’t care — and it may have paid off for them.

Dennis, I live in GA-11, one of the reddest districts in the state. I have NEVER had a Republican (or Democrat) canvasser knock on my door until this year.

This year I have had 3 different Republican Groups knock on my door. Unfortunately, no Democrats. I think that will be coming maybe next cycle.

My point is, if they are canvassing in my area, Republicans are VERY worried about these elections

What are you talking about? Because you didn’t do it or see it ergo it didn’t exist? Democrats ABSOLUTELY had door to door canvasing in eVERY state, especially in Georgia! That’s why we did so well there! Thank big you to Stacey Abrams(!) who is our lead person down there and who believes it’s most important to sign up as many First Time voters as possible to increase the base. They usually find them canvassing. Additionally, some people were cold calling instead of visiting door to door because of the pandemic, more were comfortable doing that-my son who is 16… Read more »

Calm down there Ursula. Whoa. Susan Collins? A host of others. Voting is a sub-conscious habit and has nothing, ZERO, NADA to do with rational thought. AT least as far as Republicans are concerned. Sorry. I simply cannot see both of them winning. White people are white people. They just can’t help it. They will always vote against their own best interests where black people are involved. Yes. I am profoundly and deeply cynical. Think: Mitch McConnel. If it were up to me, someone on the Dem side would have launched counter-suits to Giuliani’s nonsense asking the SCOTUS to throw… Read more »

I’m not counting on white people to win the day here. However, in my own cynicism, I expect such credit by the whiter members of our side to be claimed in the event of a double hole-in-one victory.

They don’t need countersuits to the election suits – the judges are tossing them, and are getting PO’d about the crap.

The problem with your assessment is that Georgia has a HUGE minority population, so it’s going to depend on who turns out, not who white voters prefer. I wouldn’t call the race either way at this point.

THANK YOU, This we won’t fight back is why the Republicans are so successful is State elections. Why didn’t any Dem counter in other RED States that use Dominions That TRUMP won. That would have stopped the non sense in its tracks

Judicious caution is warranted certainly. But things are looking good down Georgia way, aren’t they?

Never underestimate the banality of Evil. Still at 67, i want to believe in Santa Claus, peace on earth & Heaven exist. That’s my altar to irrationality. Where would we be without Hope?

Bareshark

That’s despair you’re speaking of, Scott, not hope. Be mindful of how much of the former you take in. Having that much faith in evil is equally misguided.

Really? So to acknowledge santa isnt real, there isn’t peace on earth, & there’s no proof of Heaven is evil? I beg to differ. Ye shall know the truth & the truth shall set you free.i majored in Religion. At UNC-CH. I studied with a true scholar. I believe santa lives in all of us. I believe when social justice that lines up with Jesus’s two greatest commandments are the foundation of government, you’ll be well on your way to peace on earth. And Heaven? Who knows. If it were a scientific fact, you wouldnt need faith. No. Freedom from… Read more »

Science never cured a broken heart nor rationality ever fixed the world enough to keep the nightmares away. It does good things but it alone only ends in despair. A new language and model is needed to redress that deficiency.

Your hopes are walking my way but the despair in way too many of your posts point the opposite direction. And that is why we will likely never be on the same path.

I am cautiously optimistic, but there are still too many “flaming dog poop” Republicans- those who will vote for a flaming pile of dog poop as long as it had an (R) after it’s name.

It’s changing, but I am not sure if it is changing quickly enough

Define quickly enough.

Lincoln Project….you cease to amaze me with your Patriotism. I’m impressed beyond my expectations. The U.S. needs to get back on track.
