This is the ugliest transition in history, because all parties involved know that Joe Biden won and that there is no reason to block the transition. Nevertheless, blocked it remains, out of pure cussedness. Their cover story is that Donald Trump actually won the election and there will be no transition. So why is Emily Murphy, the General Services Administrator, who won’t release the budget to the incoming administration looking for a new job? Answer: hypocrisy, what else? ABC News:

The top General Services Administration official who’s blocking President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team from accessing government resources ahead of his inauguration appears to be looking for a new job, according to a message obtained by ABC News.

Emily Murphy, head of the GSA, recently sent that message to an associate inquiring about employment opportunities in 2021, a move that some in Washington interpreted as at least tacitly acknowledging that the current administration soon will be gone. […]

Congressional Democrats have accused Murphy of undermining the peaceful transition of power and could subpoena her for testimony on Capitol Hill to explain why she’s doing so.

And while it’s true that there’s often a reshuffling of officials after a presidential election, regardless of whether the incumbent returns, Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., a senior member of the House Oversight Committee, insisted that Murphy reaching out privately about future employment opportunities “exposes the hypocrisy” of the Trump administration’s position.

All that Murphy and the rest of the GOP who is backing Trump’s absurd posture of having been cheated out of the election are doing is putting America’s national security at risk and worsening the Biden administration’s response to the pandemic. Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, will be meeting with pharmaceutical companies to discuss vaccines and get up to speed. The companies are cooperating with him, which if there was some legitimate question about a Trump win, they would not be.

The adults will be taking over soon and the idiot GOP children can continue to fuss and fume and throw monkey wrenches into the works of government until they’re escorted out by security, if necessary. If a textbook definition of country over party was needed, this would be it. They know the party’s over, they just refuse to call it a day.

Her stone walling will get kudos from some RW businesses. The damage 45 has caused is incalculable.

In the meantime, an AP story I read on AOL featuring Trump’s National Security adviser, Robert O’Brien may find his own job on the chopping block soon. While at the Global Security Forum in Qatar, we’ve got this tidbit: “If the Biden-Harris ticket is determined to be the winner — obviously things look that way now — we’ll have a very professional transition from the National Security Council. There’s no question about it,” O’Brien said. “They’re going to have very professional folks coming in to take these positions.” The Donald, if he hasn’t heard about this yet, is not going… Read more »

Looking out for herself, instead of doing her job. Of course.

Now if I remember correctly, can’t the new executive team interview her ala Karl Rove in 2009. I hope Biden’s team really digs in and researches her performance, especially the FBI land swap that wasn’t. Heck, the GSA letting Trump keep the hotel in DC. That needs a judicial look (there was one… I just can’t remember.) Sure, let her send her resume… and then nicely drag her butt in to answer some questions. Under oath.

Speaking of people who may need new jobs and/or attorneys, did you hear the one about Lindsey Graham being outed by Georgia’s Secretary of State–you know, Perdue and Loeffler wanted to resign all of a sudden–for apparently encouraging tampering with Georgia’s vote count?

Well, don’t know about Georgia recording conversations… But Lindsey is just … still around for six more effing years. Crap.

Depending on how far he went for Trump, he might be lucky to be around for ONE year…and he may well have just lost what power he has either way.

Not recorded – but there was at least one other person there, who heard it.
