Trump Basically Conceded Today

Ever since Sunday morning, Trump all purpose butt boy and mouthpiece, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, has been getting raked over the coals. In an interview on Sunday morning with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Meadows specifically came right out and admitted that the Trump administration was making absolutely no attempt to control the coronavirus, instead simply standing pat and waiting for therapeutics and a vaccine.

Needless to say, Meadows had stepped in it, not only for his admission, but because that admission had managed to block out the sun that is constantly required by Glorious Bleater.

But nobody is going to take the shine from the Sun King, and so Trump set out to set the record straight. But in setting the record straight, Trump once again let his mouth get ahead of what teeny brain he has, and accidentally let the real story slip.

In a campaign rally today, Trump was, as usual, bitching about the coronavirus, and the never ending coverage of it in the media. Trump petulantly whined, You mark my words. A week from tomorrow, nobody is even going to mention the coronavirus anymore. The media will treat it like it never existed!

What?!? What kind of bullshit is this? Actually, it plays perfectly into Trump’s repetitive complaints about the virus, that the media has been blowing the virus entirely out of proportion in order to try to sink Trump’s chances in the election. But in doing so, Trump made a fatal miscalculation.

Follow the logic here, people. Trump has been complaining publicly, in his super spreader rallies for weeks now that the FAKE NEWS media has been overblowing the actual severity of the virus in order to sink Trump’s reelection chances, right?

So them ask yourselves this question? Why in the world would the fake news media suddenly stop hammering home the severity of the coronavirus starting next Wednesday? The only rational explanation is that Trump loses on Tuesday! If Trump wins next Tuesday night, then the Democrats and the media would naturally only want to continue to hammer home the seriousness of the virus, just to hamstring him going into his second term! The only possible reason for the Democrats and the media to suddenly stop hammering away at the severity of the virus would be if Biden won, and they wanted to start to soften his landing on that particular problem.

Let’s make it clear. Trump has never been particularly intelligent, either as a candidate, or as a President. But as the walls have closed in around him, and he has become more desperate, he has become more and more unhinged. And that led to a stunning moment at a rally today in which he actually admitted that he expects to lose, because the media will begin to transition away from the coronavirus on Wednesday to make Joe Biden’s life easier. Game. Set. Match.

I have been hearing that BS from Republicans for months. They all say the virus will go away after Nov 3rd. I don’t know if they are saying they think Trump will lose or just that there will be no reason to talk about it after the election regardless of who wins.

Given the thousands upon thousands of Americans who won’t even make it to the New Year? There’ll be plenty of reason to talk about it…and who let it get this bad. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t Uncle Joe.

GET OUT traitortrump!! He needs to resign and make the embarrassing defeat that he is going to suffer next Tuesday a non-story. JUST LEAVE NOW Loser!!

He does that, the only way he’s going to be safe is by fleeing the country. He’d LIKE to leave–he’s hated this job since the start–but doing that puts in such legal and financial jeopardy that it’s not worth it to him.

To where will he flee, Bare? We ain’t letting him in up here. We hate him even more than you guys do! Wait, I have an idea! He can move in with Edward Snowden. The two of them can hang out together in Putin’s Russian. Now THAT works for me!!! What could possibly go wrong for him in retirement?

That’s actually a tougher question than you might think, Bryan. Russia seems an obvious first choice but we’ve no idea how much he screwed Putin over. I repeat…I am convinced that getting rid of the Magnitsky Act, which has frozen Russian stateside assets, was top of Trump’s to-do list that he never made good on.

Also, he’ll need travel money and a plane that the intelligence community isn’t already watching. What are the odds of the latter?

Is this the same rally where he bussed over supporters from the airport four miles away and then left them stranded on getting back to the point where thirty of them wound up hospitalized with hypothermia? That’ll get people to not talk about COVID…for all of two seconds. Then they’ll remember how lousy hospitals are for spreading it and talk up how any new COVID infections amongst his hospitalized supporters is doubly Trump’s fault. Asshole…

It’s even worse: the campaign only contracted for one-way service. They didn’t care about the attendees having to get back afterward.

I hear they didn’t pay any of it.

When Biden wins, Trump will probably remind us that under his stewardship he prevented 2million deaths but under Biden in short 2 months the virus spiked and killed 50k -100k. Trump being Trump I think he will try to put all the responsibility on Biden’s shoulders after Nov4 while he goes and plays golf more and more. Stimulus package be damned, it’s payback.

” you belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Jesus, John 8:44. WOW! I know if I were a Trump supporter, who thought I was following Jesus, this passage would scare the sh*t out of me. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED. By Jesus. Jesus. You do stop at red lights dontcha?

General Phil Sheridan when his men were cheering him on while keeping them from being routed: “God damn you, don’t cheer me, FIGHT!”

True then, true now. Whatever you can do to pitch in before Tuesday, DO IT.

Love the Murfster’s take on most issues, but I’m afraid this time he gives Trump too much credit for logical thinking. Trump never stops to consider that the media would keep hyping COVID after the election, since for him the only thing that matters is being a winner. Why would the LameStreamers bother with pushing a hoax after they’ve LOST? Trump has a good deal of low cunning, but higher intellectual functioning? Not so much…

Excellent logic, Murf. But one problem – Trump* doesn’t understand logic. It’s not just that he can’t do it – he also can’t understand it when it’s explained to him in words of one syllable or less. So I wouldn’t take this as a concession. Just another bleat. I doubt if even he knows what he meant by it.

Underwriter: beat me by two seconds! Good to know that I’m thinking along the same lines as you. Also — great cat picture!

A Freudian slip in Trump’s thinking, no conscious logic involved, just an inadvertent slip revealing his true feelings, not thoughts.
Murf is right IMHO.

So you think it is “game, set, match”; that Donnie would be smart to slink away in quiet shame and humiliation rather than be dragged away like a spiteful, tantrum-raging child who needs to be pulled by his ear, away from the center of attention to the isolation of his room for punishment.
I’m thinking that he is not that smart. He is going to fight until he has to be dragged away, kicking and screaming.

Bareshark

He’ll do it up to a point, Mike. When it’s obvious that the kicking and screaming is getting him nowhere, he’ll stop.

Given that Fox News employed the exact same approach to Ebola in order to damage President Obama, one could understand how tRump views it that way. The difference is that the government dealt effectively with Ebola, Sars-1, Mers, and H1N1. Covid-19 will be a story for some time to come.
