Whoa, here it comes, here comes the night, here comes the night. — T.H.E.M.

You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows in Moscow. Vladimir Putin announced on Russian TV Sunday that he saw nothing criminal in Hunter Biden’s past business ties with Ukraine or Russia, so there goes that attack line. When Donald Trump hears this, he’s going to need a ventilator, covid or no covid. Reuters:

Putin appeared less friendly towards Trump in remarks broadcast by Russian state TV on Sunday. In what may be seen by some analysts as an attempt to try to curry favour with the Biden camp, he took the time to knock down what he made clear he regarded as false allegations from Trump about the Bidens.

“Yes, in Ukraine he (Hunter Biden) had or maybe still has a business, I don’t know. It doesn’t concern us. It concerns the Americans and the Ukrainians,” said Putin.

“But well yes he had at least one company, which he practically headed up, and judging from everything he made good money. I don’t see anything criminal about this, at least we don’t know anything about this (being criminal).”

Putin also reacted with visible irritation when asked about comments Trump has made concerning Putin’s ties to the former mayor of Moscow, and to an alleged payment made to Hunter Biden by the ex-mayor’s widow. Putin said he knew nothing about the existence of any commercial relationship between Hunter and the woman. Joe Biden says the accusation about his son is not true.

Apparently Putin has decided that the horse he was counting on before is just not a winner and so he’s decided to change his bet. And this is a turn around, make no mistake. Russian media was pushing “BidenGate” up until a few days ago. Daily Beast:

Pro-Kremlin channel NTV, which recently aired a multi-part series, “Bidengate,” filled to the brim with outlandish allegations against the former vice president, opined that the alleged revelations pertaining to Hunter Biden may end up costing his father the election. Program Vesti on channel Rossiya-1 likewise predicted that Hunter Biden’s alleged email scandal could influence the outcome of the U.S. elections, describing the release of materials as the best possible pre-election gift for Trump and his campaign.

And Trump mockery also is a staple on Russian TV. It looks like after today, this may be the way it goes for the rest of the election and beyond.

60 Minutes, which is broadcast on Russia’s most prominent state media channel Rossiya-1reported that Trump is trailing behind Joe Biden in the polls and “will most likely lose the election.” They played the clip of the American president threatening to leave the country in the event he isn’t re-elected. “To Moscow, he’ll come to Moscow,” sniped co-host Olga Skabeeva. Tuning in from the United States, correspondent Denis Davydov weighed in: “Will the agent return to Moscow? Most likely not.”

Back in 2019, Russian state media commentators pointed out that “sooner or later, the Democrats will come back into power,” and joked about offering Trump asylum. In 2020, Trump supplied more fodder for the same line of thinking with his own commentary about his floundering campaign.

And take a look at this.

In 2011, during his visit to the Kremlin, Biden told Putin: “I’m looking into your eyes, and I don’t think you have a soul.” In response, Putin smirked: “We understand each other.” The Russian president prefers to interface with world leaders who are either subservient or clueless. In Trump, he has both.

In Trump he had both. Now it looks like it’s recalibration time at the Kremlin, or the hour of BYEDON, Putin has spoken.

Yeah, there’s your sign that this is nearly over folks. Putin, whether he likes it or not, knows he’s going to be dealing with a Biden administration in a few months. Best to leave any bridges Trump hasn’t burned untouched. There may also be the matter of the SALT treaties, which Trump stupidly pulled out of. All in all, I’m convinced that Putin got as shafted by the Mango Mussolini as the rest of us.

Hence the word “once”, eh, Blue? And I continue to question how “useful” he actually was.

Of course, Putin’s attack now VINDICATES Trump, at least in the eyes of his cult followers, since it “proves” the “libs” were wrong about Trump’s being a Russian agent. As for the Hunter Biden matter, it could also be viewed as “proof” by Trump’s followers that Putin’s not really the grand puppet master that the “libs” have alleged him to be. As for the Russian media, let’s also not forget that OUR intel operations (when not hampered by Trump’s insane need to meddle in matters) have declared, time and again, that the Russians are behind a lot of pro-Trump messaging… Read more »
