Holy arm twisting, Batman. A Colorado trailer park landlord sent out a letter to tenants predicting doom and gloom in the event of a Biden presidency — and describing what his own part in that would be: doubling the rent. Dead State:

“TO ALL TENANTS: Please understand IF Joe Biden is elected as our next President, everything you do and have to pay for will change completely,” the letter shared with 9News read. “Everything will be increased. Like paying ALOT (sic) more in taxes, utilities, gasoline, groceries, new permits, fees and regulations…everything! This also means YOUR RENT will be increased to cover these expenses. Most likely, rent would DOUBLE in price!”

“IF the current President is re-elected, WE WILL NOT RAISE THE RENT FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS!” the landlord’s letter continued. “Voting is your choice and we are not telling you how to vote. We are just informing our tenants what WE will do according to the election results. If Trump wins, we all win. If Biden wins, we all lose.”

“VOTE on November 3, 2020,” the letter’s closing message read.

Nothing like overreaching in business to the point of fascism. You’ll be happy to know that the letter is with the office of the Colorado Attorney General. Just more evidence of the rocks that got overturned and the things that slithered out from under them when Trump got elected.

I’m sure a lot of people got very scared. Mobile home park spaces are not regulated under rent control. This not so veiled threat hit home, I’m sure. It’s good that somebody had the sense to get the letter to the media and the Secretary of State. This landlord must be the reincarnation of Oliver Cromwell — which means he would fit in just fine with this administration.

This is what happens when you have leaders who flout the rule of law. He’s emboldened everyone to just ignore it, whether that be voter intimidation or pointing guns at protestors.

Hope they enjoy it while it lasts…because the tick tock is getting closer to stopping that clock.

I think this guy just believes tRump’s baloney. How much all the deregulation has helped us, etc. I’m sure he also believes the gloom and doom tRump is predicting if he loses.

He best not be doing anything else that’s shady. Like his orange idol, he might regret throwing a spotlight on himself.

It’s Colorado, Blue, not Alabama. That weasel is making a play in a state that’s going for Uncle Joe, no matter what.

Um, as an Alabamian, please pick on GEORGIA, where the film “Deliverance” was set (and filmed).

I was stationed in LA at Fort Rucker for two years. My heart goes out to you.

The Boll Weevil monument in Enterprise was great though.

Sorry, Joseph, but I’ve already driven your state’s Interstate highways at night. A few pockets aside, the peak of civilization it is not. But chin up…my state of TN is likely going to surpass you in just a few more years in backwardness. As for Georgia…well, let’s be straight and admit that it’s likely to leave BOTH our states in the dust this coming decade.

Meh…like some to most of those tenants haven’t already voted. It’s Papa John’s all over again and we all know how well THAT worked.

Whether or not that trailer park owner violated Colorado law I don’t know. However, by putting what he did in writing he both issues a threat and also offered a thing of value (no lot rent increases for two years) in an attempt to threaten and/or coerce someone’s vote and that’s a violation of federal election law regardless of whether the attempt is successful. Every letter sent can be a count of the indictment. This asshole needs to be arrested and pronto – as a warning to other landlords and business owners threatening their employees.

OT: they’ve been excavating at the location where victims of the Tulsa masscare were buried, and have found a dozen bodies.
