Even for Donald Trump this is starting to get low. Jeff Sessions is trying to regain his old Senate seat from the Democrat who currently holds it and any other Republican president in Trump’s shoes would be backing that play. Not Trump. He just keeps doubling down on Sessions and making things worse. Which is great. I hope Trump screws this up royally. I simply marvel at the obtuse self-destructiveness of it all. We’ve never seen this before.

This is why Republicans are terrified of opposing Trump. They’re trying to avoid this ugliness. Good work, GOP. Your Frankenstein’s monster is turning on you. And as for Sessions, hey, you weren’t Trump’s killer. He wanted a killer and you let him down and now he’s got Bill Barr to do his killing. So now Trump is going to kill you. It’s as simple as that. These are the politics of the cave and that’s what you signed on for when you endorsed Trump.

“Super liberal Doug Jones.” LOL. The second most conservative Democrat in the Senate, just above Kyrsten Sinema. Although there’s a huge gulf between her and the most “progressive” Republican, Susie Collins, who has become dramatically more conservative in her voting record in the last two years. I wonder who she’s a puppet for …

Tuberville is remembered in Alabama as the coach for Auburn. This is not a point in his favor in most of the state.

My brother-in-law, for some reason, has been an Auburn fan forever. He came to much the same conclusion.

I wonder how much the fact that Tubby coached for Auburn will influence the vote of Alabama fans. I hope they view him as worse than a pedophile. Sorry PJ, I just saw you posted the same thing.

Maybe they will put Tubby and Sessions in some kind of class like communist and start forming third and fourth parties in Alabama.

It sends arguably TWO messages, Ursula. First, as you say, if you cross or embarrass Trump, you can expect this treatment (see also Loeffler). Second, and more importantly, I think, the bill for getting Trump on the 2016 ticket has come due…and it’s way past time they could do anything to head that off.
