The New York Times has chosen a simple yet powerful memorial message honoring the 100,000 Americans who have already died from the coronavirus. It’s devoted the entire front page to a list of the victims, with a one-line biography, such as “Romi Cohen, 91, New York City, saved 56 families from the Gestapo.” Every time Donald Trump mentions the statistics of COVID-19, it is with lack of interest, in his characteristic monotone. This simple memorial on the front page of the Times is a powerful reminder that these Americans were people of diverse backgrounds, who contributed to America in countless ways.

There is no photo on the front page. That’s a first as well.

Trump will either ignore the Times or pretend to cancel his subscription once again. He’s out playing golf now, anyway.

This memorial day will have special meaning. I won’t listen to him speak. I’m sure I will see anything important that comes up.

Here’s a YouTube clip from an episode of “Designing Women” that I think you’ll enjoy.

Yours is informed by the righteous hatred Kabbalists symbolize with the sephiroth Geburah, literally God’s wrath. The hatred is on behalf of all who have suffered. Rather than deny it, I suggest finding a good and doable channel for it to help end the suffering, however great or small it may be.

I feel the same way, he sickens me ….He’s a very ugly person that needs to be put in a mental hospital for the rest of his life .

58 thousand died in Vietnam. 36 thousand died in Korea. Orangebob shitpants has piled more bodies than both put together in three months or so, with more to come. Please explain why the most prolific serial killer in our history is still on the public payroll? We never gave poor Charlie Manson that kind of deal, and he was small time compared to the Lord of the Lies.

Why ask questions you already know the answer to? We both know why this is so. What matters now is what we do to get him out of there. The fallen deserve no less.

And how many of that 100,000 might be alive today if we had a real human being in the White House instead of a malignant narcissistic psychopath?! Answer that and you have the number of negligent homicides that tRump has committed!!! And the entire republican party is complicit, along with everyone that voted for tRump!!!

Estimates I’ve heard cut the casualty count by 30,000 to 50,000 people if we’d acted just two weeks earlier. Maybe none of them if we’d had that real human being you mentioned. This was always my mother’s dread, a catastrophe like this. Now we can only bury the deceased and make the complicit and responsible parties PAY.

My mother died here in Mississippi about three days after the frat boy R gov finally locked down the state. All this lock-down meant to me was I couldn’t go in the hospital and watch what they were doing. We have a toy hospital. You have to be sent to a real one in another town. They didn’t send her. She won’t be on this list. Though she was planting her garden on Thursday and heading to the ER on Friday morning then dying alone around Midnight Saturday she won’t be on this list. They have her dying of Viral… Read more »

There are thousands who died of the virus and weren’t even tested.

Whatever reasons you told them, Blue, I’m sure it was the truth of the matter or close enough. They’re playing those same stat games in TN with the deceased, aided and abetted by the fact that nobody goes to the hospital or doctor around here unless they gotta. One of my neighbors got back last night from helping a friend with her sister. The sister had fallen down some stairs (not beat up but REALLY fallen), banged up her legs. She developed some blood clots in those legs because she refused to go to the hospital out of dread of… Read more »

I see that front page, I hear Bob Dylan singing “It’s all over now, baby blue.” It’s as haunting an image as the Vietnam War Memorial is.
