The White House hasn’t screwed up the coronavirus response enough, apparently, because now we have RWNJ and economic adviser to Donald Trump, namely Peter Navarro, telling hoarders, “We’re going to come for you” — at a time when the right-wing media machine is cranking out fear saturated propaganda about the coronavirus being a “false flag operation” cobbled together by everybody from the Deep State to the Illuminati. Covid-19 is nothing if not fertile ground for CT to grow in.

If you haven’t checked on YouTube lately, or better yet a far far-right CT site called Bitchute, there is a plethora of videos on how the coronavirus is the harbinger of a fascist takeover and the New World Order. Allegedly the government is A) trying to get you used to rationing and being controlled and, B) is ready to come into your homes and do God only knows what. Theories range from injecting citizens with a potion which will be billed as coronavirus vaccine, but will in fact be a mind-control drug, to removing citizens by force from their homes and incarcerating them in FEMA camps.

Therefore, an ill advised and stupid comment like “economic adviser” Peter Navarro just made is pouring gasoline on a fire right now. (If you wonder about the quotes, Peter Navarro knows as much about economics as the circus fat lady knows about weight loss and fitness, according to legitimate economists.)

And the newest CT is that Ibuprofen is supposed to “accelerate the multiplication” of the virus, whatever that means. What is truly horrific about this is that it is happening worldwide and is not confined to a few QAnon wingnuts. And Trump stood next to Navarro and let him spread stupid ideas. That will only fan the flames of hysteria. As the short-lived White House staffer Anthony Scaramucci opined, “The fish stinks from the head down.”

My mother and father lived thru the depression and keeping as ample supply was normal. But hoarding because of fear it’s different. Because we now have the doom day bunch and it gone to a whole new level and now we have this idiot we are having a hard time staying calm. Because we have a wh stirring up there base and they don’t care anymore who a r or a d there afraid of everybody. So what we all walk on egg shell. That’s what they want so I say bs to them. Just be practical and buy what… Read more »

Funny…that sounds a lot like my message to every Trumpista after their idol is toppled. But I used fewer words for mine: “Start running.”

The tone of everything trump has gone very dark, so many, “things”, being done, all, “SO BEAUTIFUL”, as his plan is working tirelessly around the clock, the FEMA man gave a time schedule on some of the deliveries scheduled, one that jumps out at me, [30 days], fuck Trump …. With exponential expansion of victims of this virus, 30 days is a death sentence to thousands … The old Pandemic crew would have been on this virus BEFORE it was a disaster in China, as, oh yeah, we USED to have communications set up all around the world, as part… Read more »

If I’ve got to be the last person alive in my small town, so freaking be it. My mission from this point on is to survive and help as many folks as I possibly can do the same. My one cold comfort is our opposition is too stupid to take the neccessary steps to do likewise. That they’ll take far too many people who never deserved it with them is unforgivable.

Ironically, gun stores are reporting they’re selling a surprising number of guns and (from a local news story last night) ammunition is already starting to run out, especially on the “popular calibers” (according to a gun store owner interviewed in that story). The reason for the increase in sales? People are supposedly worried about “civil unrest” and who are the ones most typically so concerned about “civil unrest?” Right-wing nut jobs and the “survivalists” who also do more than their share of hoarding. (Of course, since these folks are the “right” skin tone, I’ve got a feeling that they’re really… Read more »

Sugar high…look for a crash when the supplies run out on both guns and ammo later. Frankly, those idiots will probably shoot themselves or someone they care about before getting to their preferred targets. Eff ’em.

unfortunately, hospitals are also seeing a major upswing in serious child abuse cases since lockdowns began. Nowhere to run and everyone’s nerves stretched, then the tempers explode. I fear we will see more murder-suicides by gun, as well.

Yeah, I’ve heard and as someone with an abuser in childhood, I’ve got a decent idea of the depths that a person’s heart and soul sinks to. That needed no gun to make happen.

Gun stats are pretty consistent, though. You’re more likely to be shot by your own gun in your own home by someone you know. With these tragedies in the making, I see yet another unforgivable crime to lay at the feet of the Irredeemables.

I find it ironic that the people who run out and buy guns out of fear of unrest, seem like the reactionary types to go off like a fire cracker at the least provocation. They seem to be the ones who start unrest.

I fully expect that they forgot to get food.

Enjoyed the read. I just have to tell this: My husband went to get food for us for two weeks. He bought six cans of soup, six can of veggies, and a few odds and ends. No toilet paper or bottled water. You know, “hoarder things”. At the checkout, the cashier refused to check him out. Those in line began to get nutty. He then turns around to tell them “I’m shopping for two. My wife is sick ( NOT Corona) and I can’t can’t get to the store but a few times a month”. “I’m a nurse, and was… Read more »
