Dirty Trickster Roger Stone had a good long run, longer than most of his ilk, that’s for certain. However, it looks like he’s now at the end of the road — or at least in a cul de sac that he cannot easily walk out of. Axios:

The big picture: Stone, one of several Trump associates to be indicted as a result of the Mueller investigation, was found guilty in November of lying to Congress about his efforts to learn more about when WikiLeaks would publish damaging emails about 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

  • Stone is set to be sentenced on Feb. 20. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn is the only other Trump associate convicted in the Mueller investigation who continues to await sentencing.

  • The self-proclaimed “dirty trickster” was hit with a gag order during his trial after he posted an Instagram that appeared to show crosshairs next to an image of D.C. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson.

Stone is not in a great place right now. He not only obstructed Congress’s investigation into Russia — which in this administration is not only not a big deal, it’s pretty much de rigueur  to be a real Trumpite — but he’s convicted of lying under oath and witness tampering.

Will Donald Trump pardon him? You can lay odds as well as the professional book makers. Right now it’s even money that if Trump loses in November, he’ll pardon all his buddies, Stone, Manafort — maybe not Michael Cohen. Sure is interesting how many of Trump’s associates end up going to live in the House of Many Doors, isn’t it?

Place your bets, mesdames et messieurs, this is the era of Trump and anything goes.

Spoiler alert: Stone is staying right where he’s at. He pardons him or Manafort, New York State steps in with its own charges which are beyond Trump’s reach. Besides that, once you’re caught, you’re a loser in Trump’s eyes and thus you’re cast out. The pattern of Trump’s behavior is set in stone here…no pun intended. Stone gets even half of the 7-9 years, it’s practically a life sentence.

He doesn’t like losers, so I don’t think he will pardon anyone. Unless his boss, Putin, wants them to be pardoned, for some reason.

And really, is there anyone among them that Putin would want to save?

Heck no.

Let Trump do it. Here’s the fun part. Once pardoned, those idiots will have to testify against Trump as they no longer have a need to worry about self-incrimination.
