Lindsey Graham declared that the House impeachment trial was rushed, but then paradoxically said, “I want this trial to be over as quick as possible,” on Fox News Sunday. This is nothing new. Since before the House impeachment inquiry began, Graham has been in the middle of this issue, and like quicksilver, his ideas about the parameters of impeachment keep shifting and flowing in all directions. Graham has moved the goalposts so many times, that now they’re gone and only a bounce house remains. Welcome to Impeachment 2020 a total reversal of Impeachment 1999.

Watch for more of the same. Graham’s clips from the Clinton impeachment, along with Pence’s and others of great sanctimony at the time, will be shown right next to these present day clips. Look for night and day opinions on what a high crime is, what abuse of power is, and heaven forfend, what you should do with a president who is caught lying. Hypocrisy is the coin of the realm if you’re a Republican.

Does anyone even take anything Lindsey says seriously anymore? He’s become about as believable as Kellyanne Conway.

I saw a couple of years ago a SC reporter say Lindsey never saw a microphone and TV camera he didn’t love. I have never seen my Senators on cable tv.

I just moved out of Illinois. My senator gets on TV a lot! But he’s second in the senate. Been there a long time. I have met him on several occasions. He’s a very nice person and back in the day when I was more active in the community he would remember that we had met before, which with the people he interacts with is something. I kinda grew up in the democratic machine. Knew a lot of influential people. To bad I was to hard headed to take advantage of it. Coulda been someone in or around politics. Oh… Read more »

They are all abhorrent. What creeps. If he is being blackmailed, he feels that his livelihood is more important than anything and everything. Just destroy America over it. What is he going to do when trump is out of office? He will be a pariah.

Both the DNC and RNC were hacked by the Russians. Only the DNC results were revealed. I have long suspected that many of our GOP congresspeople are being blackmailed by the Russians and by Trump’s people. I figure they have something really good on ol’ Lindsey – something he REALLY doesn’t want to come out. More than just livelihood, maybe something that would land him in jail?

at the time and looking back the dnc emails did not reveal anything, Sanders said as much, there was nothing there. I am sure the rnc hack was the same, maybe some shady contacts but who sends out incriminating evidence over email? they may be compromised but it was not from email hacks, because the dnc hacks did not reveal anything real either. just the media made a big show of it. the media made the story about the hack, it wasn’t a story. What we are getting from Parnas is the real deal, behind the scenes corruption, it should… Read more »

It isn’t whether there’s real material, it’s what the media can do with it. And the PR guys for the GOP-T.

can the house team interrogate the sitting senators who were on clintons trial? can they interrogate ken starr and the defense team? starr is a rapist enabler from his time at Baylor, i would love to see him have to confess to that. Can they turn lindseys statements from the clinton trial against him?

Yes, Repugs may even argue over what the definition of “is” is.
