The mind of Donald Trump is a shambolic, disordered mess, where the only running thread of unity is to lash out at perceived enemies — first and foremost, the Democrats and their alleged compatriots, the “fake news media.” Today, he did another presser on the lawn, and he was more peeved than usual, which makes sense since he was booed last week at the World Series and then again Saturday night at the UFC championship in Madison Square Garden. Trump is becoming progressively more unglued as the days go by and his commentary Sunday only serves to underscore how much.

Today he went off on Alexander Vindman, whom he calls a “Never Trumper” and accused the media of withholding the name of the Ukraine whistle blower — whom Trump depicts as a liar.

“He’s a big anti-Trump person, hated Trump…he was an Obama person, Brennan, Susan Rice, which means Obama…I don’t know why the media’s not on it, because the whistle blower gave a very inaccurate report about my phone call. My phone call was perfecto. [sic] but he gave an inaccurate report…you know who it is, you just don’t want to report it. CNN knows who it is, you don’t want to report it. The whistle blower gave a false report. And because of that false report, people think that bad things were done.

It goes without saying that Trump has no concept of whistle blower protections, why they are necessary, or what a whistle blower risks by coming forward. He just wants to get a name so he can denounce the person as a loser and have Rocco break his legs. So far, vintage Trump. And it’s equally vintage that he is blameless, it’s this unnamed person telling lies that is the problem, and the media hiding him. Pure conspiracy theory, although you would never be able to explain that to Trump. His thought processes are too simplistic to permit him the discernment of why a whistle blower would come forward in the first place, to protect something larger than his own interests, and how the mechanism of a whistle blower going to Congress might be an integral part of democracy. If it’s not black and white, centered on him, Trump can’t grok it. Then he goes on to Adam Schiff and his purported false report. Take four minutes and listen to this, because this is one for the history books. The witness intimidation, of which Trump is oblivious, is where he declares that Alexander Vindman is a “Never Trumper” and that evidence of that will come out “real soon.”

But this was only the warm up. Then he went after California Governor Gavin Newsome, who he said “is like a child. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.” Textbook Projection 101 in that statement. Then he laid into Nancy Pelosi, “she’s lost her mind” — and from there it went further downhill.

“I think, frankly that she should go home to San Francisco. If you look at what is happening to her district, her district is going to hell. With homeless that they’re not taking care of, with needles all over the streets, with tents, with people, with sanitation, with horrible things being washed into the ocean — the Pacific Ocean.”

Well, it’s good that he knows which ocean is on the west coast, that’s an improvement, certainly. He used to think that the phrase “western liberalism” referred to California hippies. Mention the name John Locke in this context, Trump will tell you he’s some guy in Santa Monica drinking Chardonnay and eating avocado toast. We are making progress here, seriously. Just last week, Trump thought that Colorado was on the Mexican border.

“I think that her district has gone down proportionately, more than any district in the United States.”

Well, that takes Baltimore off the hook. I’m sure those folks will be relieved.

“On top of it, you’ve got fires eating away at California, every year, because management is so bad. The governor, he’s like a child, he doesn’t know what he’s doing, and I’ve been telling him this for two years they gotta take care of it. Every year, it’s always California, it’s never, it’s rarely somebody else or someplace else.”

You know, Californians are like those pesky Puerto Ricans. We keep griping about the fires here and they keep going on about those hurricanes. Trump is right. We should mix things up a bit. How about next year we give the fires to Puerto Rico, and we’ll throw in some earthquakes, too, and California will get us some tornados. How bout that? Diversity is always a good thing, right?

Trump’s bottom line is this: “The Democrats are hanging their hat on one phone call and you know what? The Republican party has never been more unified.” Where else are you going to find sweeping political insight of this caliber, but from the lips of Donald Trump? Fragments of childlike thinking, laced with paranoia, expressed in soundbites. Truly matchless. That’s the GOP standard bearer for you, folks, going up the hill — where doubtlessly even the mice and crickets will boo him once he gets there.

Most of the fires in the last month haven’t been in forests, and it’s damned near impossible to prevent all of them (one fire started when a stolen car got driven into a field). But Himself has no effing clue, because he’s only been outside Beverly Hills like twice.

You got to love the reverberations around Trump … he’s such an idiot that he cannot and refuses to absorb any knowledge from those that really know stuff, the yes men/women he craves are the very source of his downfall, it was sickening to see an inside look way back when we were shown his tight-knit swamp meeting where everyone up to the vice president said how wonderful he was around the table before he could start any reports …. He has no knowledge of ANYTHING as far as I’ve seen … if someone says this is a better idea,… Read more »

Please write in sentences with periods at the end, so we can read paragraphs in more than one breath.

Hmmm..’ the republican party has never been more unified.’ In other words, they are running around behind the scenes, screaming, and tearing their hair out.😁

Yeah he’s got them now. But I wouldn’t go making bets on how they vote on impeachment. Republicans are predominantly believers in law and order. And what he’s done in the real world is bribery and extortion. Both being federal crimes with long sentences.

I am so grossed out from seeing pictures of trump with his mouth open. I never want to see a photo of him again.

I installed “Make America Kittens Again”, so I see a lot less of him.

That should do him well in prison, if you know what I mean!

Well trump wants to turn his very tough people loose on the whistleblower. And yes in trumps world a whistleblower would suddenly disappear. That’s what happens with wannabes. They are stupid or they wouldn’t be wannabes. In a real world we take wannabes and lock them up!

I just read this on the fires:

It’s a fine essay. (Too bad Himself can’t read or comprehend it.)
