Well, that didn’t take long. After yesterday’s catastrophic news conference, where then-Labor Secretary Alex Acosta dug his hole deeper and deeper over his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case in 2008, Acosta has resigned. The Guardian:

Speaking next to Alexander Acosta, Donald Trump said Acosta was a “great labor secretary not a good one,” according to the White House pool.

Trump also said he did a “very good job.”

He said Acosta explained his decision about Epstein in an hour-long press conference this week.

In January, Trump said “I sort of like ‘acting.’ It gives me more flexibility.”

He now has a non-permanent/acting:
– Defense Secretary
– Homeland Security Secretary
– Labor Secretary
– WH Chief of Staff https://t.co/3NN3Sau830

Was it just me or did Acosta (when he stepped up to the podium for his presser the other day – wearing those horn rimmed glasses) look just like Adolf Eichmann at Nuremburg? He’s as big a P.O.S. as Eichmann was, and given how he gutted his department’s budget for combatting human trafficking it seems to me like his efforts to cover up for sex predators like Epstein didn’t stop back in FL.

There ya go. 45 hates bad press and if you work for him and get bad press – buh by. Let’s start calling ’em the Stephen Miller immigration camps. Barr….Miller, both need as much bad press as they can get then maybe 45 will have them leave too???? Nah, they know how to kiss the a** of 45.

Even so, that was DAMN fast in terms of exits. The Epstein thing is apparently a lot worse than we’re being told. But making Stephen Miller leave isn’t going to shut down one camp, I’m afraid. That will require getting Trump out completely.

Damn right it was fast! It was too slow IMO. The Epstein “thing” that we even know is horrific. Children were raped. Children were primed by a pedophile and those he paid to help him. Epstein, et al knew exactly what to do and how to do it because those were children. I don’t care their age and if they had small breasts and hips starting to grow – they were not WOMEN! The “worse” is going to be who else is connected. Re: Miller / Barr – what I said is that they need bad press. I also said… Read more »

More Republican Party dysfunction. When will people learn?

In fairness, Obama one time wore a tan suit, and I think we can all see how that was worse than striking a clandestine deal to let a serial child rapist go free.

/s. Unless you’re a republican, I guess. They don’t seem to think that is a sarcastic statement at all.

He just had to make him humiliate himself first.

Oh, I suspect we’re just getting started on the humiliation, Cmae.

Plenty more to come, everyone!

Wow…looks like we were both way off, Ursula. We both knew Acosta was on his way out but this is warp speed even by Trump admin standards. Whatever’s happening must be scarier than the usual legal threats.

Bareshark,
Why is 45 moving so fast this time? I’ll be watching for some nasty stuff coming out about trumps past associations with Epstein.

Oh, bet on it, Anniss, as that particular bet is a mortal lock.

Who had one day in the time-before-leaving pool?

Two weeks for me, P J. The house wins this round.

Dang it, and just when he was poised to bring back the applehead doll phenomenon. (I’m pretty sure I’m the only person here who has thought he looks like one, but now that I mention it tell me I’m not right, lol.)

The one I saw was a “Dick Tracy villain”.
