Julain Assange, looking a bit haggard if not exactly contrite in the arrest phot above, was arrested by Scotland Yard after his host, Ecuador, withdrew his asylum status.

The Guardian

“Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where the WikiLeaks founder was granted refuge in 2012 while on bail in the UK over sexual assault allegations against him in Sweden.

Assange, 47, who has spent almost seven years at the embassy after seeking refuge there to avoid extradition to Sweden, was detained after the Ecuadorian government withdrew his asylum, Scotland Yard said. He was held on a warrant issued by Westminster magistrates court on 29 June 2012 when he failed to surrender to the court.

Scotland Yard said: “He has been taken into custody at a central London police station where he will remain, before being presented before Westminster magistrates court as soon as is possible.

“The MPS [Metropolitan Police Service] had a duty to execute the warrant, on behalf of Westminster magistrates court, and was invited into the embassy by the ambassador, following the Ecuadorian government’s withdrawal of asylum.”

Ecuador’s president, Lenín Moreno, said on Twitter: “In a sovereign decision, Ecuador withdrew the asylum status to Julian Assange after his repeated violations to international conventions and daily-life protocols.”

Guess he should have picked up his dirty underwear from the floor like they asked.

But seriously, Ecuador’s President, Lenín Moreno, had recently accused Assange of violating HIS privacy

The Guardian

“Speaking to the Ecuadorean radio broadcasters association on Tuesday, Moreno said under the terms of his asylum “Assange cannot lie or, much less, hack into private accounts or private phones” and he could not “intervene in the politics of countries, or worse friendly countries”.

Moreno fulminated that “photos of my bedroom, what I eat and how my wife and daughters and friends dance” had been circulated on social media but stopped short of directly accusing WikiLeaks of circulating hacked photos of his family and wiretapping his phone calls and private conversations.”

Not exactly a smart move if you’re sleeping on someone’s couch.

It will be interesting to see what he says in a US court about his role in the outing of HRC’s emailz, assuming he makes it to US court.

Hope they find a good home for his cat.

Bonus perp walk footage.

Now we get to see what Assange has to say about Roger Stone. This should be amusing.

Funny how Assange-hate seems to be a function of whom he leaks upon, eh?

To me, it’s complicated. If I were in a bank that was being robbed at knife point and a civilian came in with an AK-47 and put a stop to it, I might be grateful for that. At the same time, having a civilian running around with a military weapon, with no training or oversight, deciding when they should administer policing or justice – the big picture is that this would not be sustainable or desirable. Assange did shed light on some things the public should know about. But the manner in which he did it…and his seemingly nefarious intent…his… Read more »

Nope. But keep trying, and you may eventually get it.

I hate this pervert. he along with the russians and the racist fascist republicans ROBBED HR Clinton of her chance to be president of the USA. I don’t care what the international community does to this creature. If the US DOJ get him rest assured they aren’t going to do anything to their “political hacker benefactor.” The fake president owes Asange. hey, who knows?! Faker-trump may even try to pardon Julian Asange.

Wouldn’t you think that anyone who’s living at the mercy of someone else could behave a little better? What a dip-crap. My understanding is he’s not even being charged with the hacking of Clinton’s e-mails though, and what are the chances he will be with our present DOJ?
