The fact that Javanka, a couple off the pages of GQ and Vogue, but with zero business achievements or government experience to recommend them, occupy the positions of power in our government that they do, is stunning on it’s face. Add to that the fact that they both hold security clearances, which they were initially denied and the picture truly becomes frightening. Tricia Newbold, a security clearance specialist, spoke before Congress on this issue. Politico:
“According to Ms. Newbold, these individuals had a wide range of serious disqualifying issues involving foreign influence, conflicts of interest, concerning personal conduct, financial problems, drug use, and criminal conduct,” aides wrote in the 10-page memo, summarizing Newbold’s testimony.
Newbold, who sat for an interview with the House Oversight and Reform Committee on March 23 about the Trump administration’s security clearance process, is the highest-ranking White House official to speak out about the issue which has come under intense scrutiny from lawmakers.
She told the committee that coming to Congress was her “last hope” to bring “integrity” back to her office, noting that her internal complaints were ignored even as she amassed a list of more than two dozen officials whose clearances were approved despite an initial denial.
“I do not see a way forward positively in our office without coming to an external entity, and that’s because I have raised my concerns throughout the [Executive Office of the President] to career staffers as well as political staffers,” she said, according to a memo prepared for members of the committee. “And I want it known that this is a systematic, it’s an office issue, and we’re not a political office, but these decisions were being continuously overrode.”
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump should never have been given security clearances. Trump loves his discretion with security clearances, like he loves his pardon power. He was all set to revoke Adam Schiff’s security clearance the other day and shut him down in doing so, when he sadly found out that the Congressman’s security clearance didn’t work that way and that Schiff was a member of the Gang of 8. You remember Trump showing Jim Acosta who was the big boss by pulling his clearance.
Unfortunately, this isn’t just a childish Trump game, national security is at stake. We need to vote the Trump crime family into oblivion.

We have to win. There are so many things that need to change forever. We can never again assume the president will follow the old norms. These things have to be concrete.
Ivanka did marry a guy like her father, as Freudian as that may seem. Jared has run businesses into the ground, too. Now, the United States is the business that’s being run into the ground.
It is so awful not knowing how things are going to turn out. I try to be hopeful and realistic at the same time.
The good sign of change coming is that the heat is on from a number of different directions. 1. Mueller report being released — really released; 2. Jeff Bezos going after Saudi Arabia for hacking his private data. That’s going to roost on Jared’s doorstep. 3. This security clearance issue. This is explosive, this isn’t going to die down in a news cycle. And that’s not all, obviously, the insane talk about closing the Mexican border is high profile. It’s a three ring circus back there. It’s getting progressive more out of control as the days go by.
I apparently missed the comment. The stakes are never low, in a presidential election. Although, I have to say, I think 2020 is going to be the most important election in American history.
He said it when he was talking about organizing a rally for Hillary in South Bend and how there seemed to be no excitement or energy. He said “it seemed like the stakes were low.” I’m sorry but you don’t judge the stakes in a race by how much people jump up and down and scream for free college. Maybe when the Supreme Court repeals marriage equality, the stakes won’t seem so low to Mayor Pete.
I remember when they were first trying to get clearances, they were turned down and then somehow they were approved anyway! Its actually surprising to me that it took this long to blow up.
God, I would give anything to see Jared and Ivanka both sent to prison and see the smug smirks wiped off their callow, privileged faces.
They’ll get that Judge, Ellis, to compliment their “blameless lives” and give them a little community service. I would be happy if they were just the hell out of government. That would suffice for me.
Yeah, but prison time for that duo would be the cherry on top of the sundae.
Thanks again Ms. Faw.
