Melania Mistakes Australian Politician For Minister’s Wife, Can’t Grok That The Woman Was The Leader

Donald and Melania Trump were on a visit to the UN in 2017, and Melania met then-Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and her husband David. The only problem was, Melania got the two confused, and naturally assumed that David was the politician and Julie the spouse. The Intelligencer:

“Melania, standing by, assumed David was the foreign minister and she said to me: ‘Julie, will you be coming to my ladies’ lunch tomorrow?’ And I said ‘No, David’s going to the partners’ lunch’. She thought about that for a while, thinking: ‘Why would Australia’s foreign minister come to the partners’ lunch?’ So this went on for a while until the president explained that I was the foreign minister.”

HA! Melania “thought about it for a while” — yes, it was too incredible to her, that the woman could be the elected official and the man her spouse. Melania couldn’t grok it and Trump had to explain it to her. If you’re so dumb that Donald Trump has to explain something to you, you’re in a world of hurt.

Careful.
“If you’re so dumb that Donald Trump has to explain something to you, you’re in a world of hurt.”
You’re talking about 30 percent of the population.

Maybe she needs to rethink that thing about having the smallest first Lady staff in recent times. One of the things they do is prep you so you don’t look like an idiot!

Thank you, I needed this laugh today. Too many thoughts of nuclear winter, recently.
