Neo-Nazis Openly Declare Plans To Take Over The GOP

You certainly remember Donald Trump’s idiotic waffling after the Charlottesville debacle, “There are very fine people on both sides.” Trump has also identified as a “nationalist” on several occasions. Therefore, it will come as no shock to you that the “very fine” neo-Nazis view Trump as a catalyst for their movement, and by extension, they view the GOP as the vehicle for their ascension to power.  Splinter:

More than 235,000 logs on the chat platform Discord show users claiming to be members of the group Identity Evropa openly discussing their desire to infiltrate and take over the GOP. The logs were collected by an anonymous group of antifascists and are being released today by Unicorn Riot, a decentralized non-profit media collective; Splinter was provided with an advance copy of the logs prior to their release. Discord is the preferred chatting platform for fascist groups, and its servers have been leaked on Unicorn Riot multiple times since 2017. […]

In an announcement message that month, “Bennet” encouraged members to get involved in local politics. “Today I decided to get involved with my county’s Republican party,” he said, adding, “The GOP is essentially the White man’s party at this point (it gets Whiter every election cycle), so it makes far more sense for us to subvert it than to create our own party…if you’re unable to do activism for various reasons, I’d like to encourage you to join your local Republican party. Present as a Trump supporter/nationalist. No need to broadcast your radical views.” […]

The logs also show server members discussing their plans to infiltrate College and Young Republicans groups, and local GOP offices, on at least 48 separate dates. One person last February invited members to help build a national College Republicans Discord server, which would be run by Identity Evropa members, who were told not to use “overtly alt right usernames of profile pics.” Some members said they were either current lawyers or plan to attend law schools in an effort to provide legal support to the group, while at least a dozen people said they are currently or formerly in the military. One member asked, “What are our long range goals? Other than taking over the GOP and spreading white identity? What is the end goal for IE?”

Friends, you have it there in black and white. The Nazis intend to take over the GOP — or perhaps it would be more accurate to say, “more than they already have.”

My God. This is what happens when a carnival barker reality TV actor gets his hands on the People’s House. Donald Trump is our cultural Pandora’s box. The day he got elected, a rock moved somewhere in a desert in Hell and all manner of evil was unleashed. The Nazis got their second wind and returned. This is ghastly. And Trump & cadre think it’s all about celebrity and money. They have no idea the evil they are wreaking — or maybe they do, and don’t care, because they don’t think it will affect them, their money will insulate them. Two schools of thought. But whether they are clueless or have a social conscience, but are willing to sell their souls for the right price, the bottom line is, we lose.

Yes, I think it’s more of the same, intensified. Republicans are already the white party of neo-Nazis. They will not be able to keep their radical ideas to themselves, though, that’s where their plans will fall apart. Leaked communications like the above should be widely publicized. The farther the party moves to the right, the more they lose elections.

Sometimes I wonder if there wasn’t some truth to the whole “Sonnenkinder” thing in Robert Ludlum’s The Holcroft Covenent and in the Trump era we’ve started living a real life variation. I know that’s some heavy tinfoil hat CT level wondering, but the sad fact is that some appalling ideologies and people who want to inflict them on their country or the world never are truly eradicated – at best they can be forced into hiding/dormancy for a while but like a virulent virus even a small bit somehow survives and given the right conditions can break out and create… Read more »

And all for nothing, to have material possessions that mean zero. To get hand jobs at ‘massage parlors,’ in Florida, with trafficked women. Sex with children, drugs, winning super bowls. What a pile of garbage.

Forgive for lacking your pessimism but I have serious doubts of them making a strong go of it over the long term like you seem to. The main problem I see for them right now is that while they want it, few of them want to work for it. Further complicating the math is the overwhelming desire by far too many to be top dog. Cooperation is a foreign concept to many of these “winner take all” types and that would need to change for them to be an actual threat.

I think there’s merit to your point about different group’s and/or their leader’s fighting over who gets to be at the top of their pile of toxic waste. And certainly that would be true when you expand things to entire continents and world wide. Greed, as in wanting too much too fast could well lead to their downfall as well. I look back at WWII and think that had Hitler been more patient things could have turned out quite differently. Keep in mind that until Pearl Harbor the prevailing political sentiment and even the bulk of national sentiment was to… Read more »

It’s part of the same degenerative process that has hit the right wing like a tsunami. In many ways, I see it mirroring the final collapse of the Democratic Party at the end of the 1970s: feckless leadership, warring factions and only the broadest of principles agreed upon with no specifics attached to them. All this said, the only two paths I see for these Neo-Nazis is either a)broadening their definition of acceptable membership (which HAS happened, see Nazi Lowriders) or b) inbreeding to the point of irrelevance. I’m honestly hoping for #2.

You make it sound like you just escaped Trumpville. Surely the Orange Place was not THAT bad, Rikon? 🙂

It’s worse than it was. I think they really need to rethink the moderation system, along with the idea that they don’t need to ahve a waiting period between signing up and being able to post diaries. (There are a lot of trolls. And lurkers who appear to be trolls.)

It’s not too bad if one is just reading, but if one wants to comment or rec something, it’s playing craps with the moderators.

Most of those who PUBLICLY identify themselves as Nazis, are so far right they consider Trump to be a liberal and advocate violent means including civil war to overthrow the government. But if you look at the 23 R house members this week who voted NO against the anti-bigotry bill, it’s obvious that the GOP-Nazi Party has already taken over a significant portion of the GOP and continues to push out any R who is not going to vote with Trump consistently on everything. What worries me the most, is Putin’s current plan started to be implemented in the USA… Read more »

This will never happen ! The GOP does not stand for any of this nonsence, Not even sure if this is real news considering the source.
But , unlike the Dems the GOP does play with any hate groups period! So make a real story out of this and tell the American people what hate groups are already in bed with the democrats
