Poor little Kevin McCarthy, The Man Who Would Be String. In his fervid quest to be the next Speaker of the House, so he can criminally assault Nancy Pelosi. He has sold his soul to The Cheeto Prophet. Which means making the January 6th insurrection investigation go away. And fucked that up to the max.

Actually, McCarthy is a two time loser. Pelosi handed him on a silver platter a way to make the investigation go away on a strict time schedule. The January 6th non-partisan commission. Six Democratic appointed members, and six GOP appointed members, none currently serving officeholders, with a Democratic appointed chair. The commission would have full subpoena power, with each side having limited veto power on some subpoenas. But best of all, the commission would complete it’s investigation and issue a report by December 31st, 2021. Almost a full year before the midterms.

But this was no good for the GOP. Having non partisan members meant that the GOP couldn’t pack the commission with Trump acolytes, since sitting congressional members were ineligible. As such, the likely outcome would be that Trump had inspired and directed the insurrection. No Bueno for The Pampers President. So McCarthy and McConnell went to the mattresses and put the kibosh on it.

Which led Nancy Pelosi to emulate Fleetwood Mac, and Go her own way. She appointed the Permanent Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. She appointed 8 Democratic members, and invited House Minority Leader McCarthy to appoint 5 members, with Speaker veto power. McCarthy tried to salt the nest, and Pelosi rejected his selection of Trumptards Jim Banks and Jim Jordan. But Pelosi accepted the other three choices! And instead of leaving well enough alone, and letting the other three do what they could, McCarthy took all of his toys and went home. And left a committee with 7 Democrats, and 2 Republicans, the two most virulent anti Trump Republicans in the caucus. McCarthy would have been better off with the non partisan commission. Especially since the House committee has no time limit on it.

Here’s why this is important. Because when it comes to El Pendejo Presidente. everything is cyclical. Think of Trump as the most corrupt, inept, buffoon ever to run a con. Because of his limited intelligence and originality, no matter how often he gets caught, he keeps doing the same things over and over again. When you look at Donald Trump as a con man and criminal, think of him as The Olympic Flag. Every con is a ring, but the rings all have common ingredients, and with a little investigation, the rings all intersect and interlock, and form one clear pattern.

Example. Today, retired Lt Colonel Alexander Vindman was making the media rounds, pushing his memoir, Here, Truth Matters, which releases id print today. Vindman is a true American patriot, the man who stepped forward to blow the whistle on Trump’s corrupt, extortion phone call to Ukraine’s President Zelinsky, demanding the announcement of a Ukraine investigation into Biden and his son Hunter, in return for desperately needed military aid. It led directly to Trump’s first impeachment trial.

That was then, and this is now, but it’s back on front page news again. Why? Because Trump is bone stupid, that’s why. The main feature of Trump’s phone call to Zelinsky was that Trump said he could care less if they actually started an investigation, the critical thing was that they announce the investigation. Trump would take care of the rest politically back home in the United States.

Which dovetails perfectly with recently released DOJ contemporaneous notes that Trump called his acting Attorney General, and demanded that the release a statement that the 2020 election was corrupt. The acting Attorney General informed Trump that the DOJ was powerless to take any effect on the election results, and that there was no evidence of widespread corruption. Trump told him that he didn’t expect the DOJ to intervene, just make the statement, and he and his congressional minions would take care of the rest.

Rex Tillerson nailed it, Donald Trump truly is a fucking moron. Trump is not an intelligent man, and worse, he is incapable of learning from his mistakes, because he feels he is incapable of making a mistake. Circles within circles. Rings interlocking with other rings. With additional investigation, they will not only tie Trump to his criminal behavior on January 6th, but will be able to conclusively tie that back to a pattern of similar behavior going back at least 4 years. And most importantly, They have all the time in the world. Don’t touch that dial.

  1. Mary Trump is saying we should start calling Republicans Fascist. I say the media should have been using that label long ago. They of course are worse than the ones in the first half of the 20th century. Democrats attempting to compromise with Fascist is beyond disgusting. Now they are having Covid parties on their boats with these filthy traitors.

    • I whikeheartedky agree, and on this site, have reeatedly drawn comparisons between the Trump GOP and Fascism, especially Fascist Germany, that some were uncomfortable with. But if the media is going to be unbiased, it has to call a spade a spade…

      • that would require that the media recognize that they’ve been helping the @#$%^&*()!!!s. Which might cut into their income.

    • The “compromise” doesn’t happen with blinders. Forget the WWE antics the Trump admin reveled in. When it comes to ACTUAL politics, you either talk or you fight. And typically talking gets more done. The actual audience such things are being played for are the folks in the middle, who, whether you like it or not, do comprise the majority of this country.

Yes, Republicans are effectively fascists (and I include Liz Cheney in that description; she’s just a smarter one than the Trumpers). But most of them are no longer shy about hiding it. Nor are they particularly careful about keeping key allies in their camp to make it work (see DeathSantis and his faceoff against Florida businesses over COVID). So the calculation is, just as with COVID, the fools will make too many mistakes that they can’t take back.

  2. The DUMPF doesn’t learn from his mistakes because n his demented mind, he doesn’t make any. He has bought into the idea that wishing makes it so and thus, as he has suffered few consequences over the years, all this is validated for him. I just keep wondering of the orange jump suit is a compatible shade of orange to go with his face. And New York had best hurry up or the investigation will be dragged out far too long to indict and imprison.
